I think the reason alot of Christian Democrats have left the party in droves and many are on the verge of it now is because they find things such as this highly confusing. Our President say's how important religious freedom is and yet a German family fleeing religious persecution that could have had there family taken away from them and instead of fighting for them their freedom he fought to have them sent back. If it wasen't for the DHS they would have been sent back and their children would have been taken away from them.
The oppressed where ever they may dwell?
