Gerald Ortiz y Pino, D-Albuquerque, is sponsoring a bill that would ban the sale of food products containing aspartame. The popular sweetener, sold under the brand names of NutraSweet and Equal, is found in thousands of products, including diet sodas, but the bill calls it a poison.

I like the sound a this, I noticed last time I was buying the fixins for my annual vodka and tonic, I could not find a tonic water that was free of either aspartame or saccarine even though they were not all labeled "diet".Just proves ya gotta read all the fine print, I could find one, though, but in a can (which I don't like) and it was lemon flavored. (and what exactly does "flavored" mean?) Every single brand had one or tother of these abominations in them .
