I even read that Education historian Diane Ravitch opposes Common Core State Standards and why that is she writes about in the Washington Post.

She seems to believes it is fundamentally flawed and should not be imposed on the states from the federal government & she seems to be very out spoken about her thoughts on this now. To read everything she says by her in full detail not paraphrased by me read the article in full and from what I read about her I believe she is a Democrat.

More people are speaking out on this type of curriculum now.
We need children that are educated free thinkers and problem solvers in school. More like schools use to be without all this ridged doctrine it seems we have today. Wether Democrat or Republican both sides of the spectrum seems to be speaking out on this issue also plus we also have both sides of the spectrum who have supported this change. But like the famous speech by Nancy Peloski we have to pass it so we can read it thing. I don't Believe they are reading or fully reading these changes/bills before they are implimented on us. That needs to change to avoid situations such as this. And who says Beautiful cursive writing isn't important for learning? How will they be able to read historical documents and other writings etc.... without understanding the handwriting? Many believe it is still important to learn.Hmmmmm.....
