--EVERY WORD OF SCRIPTURE IS TRUE AND FACTUAL ~~ ~~ When Jesus came alongside two disciples walking on the Emmaus Road that first Resurrection afternoon, they did not recognize Him. The two dejected disciples seemed perplexed that the man walking with them did not know anything about the events that had just taken place in Jerusalem. They inquired, "Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things of the things which have happened here in these days?" Then Jesus began to explain to them "the things concerning himself in all the Scriptures."Why would Jesus choose to enlighten the two disciples regarding His identity and mission through the words of Scripture instead of simply showing them his wounds? Throughout the ages all Christians have had to learn the true meaning of Jesus' life, death and resurrection from the revelation of Holy Scripture. Such is God's plan for our knowledge of the truth and for our salvation. Later that day Jesus appeared to His eleven disciples and told them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures (Luke 24:44-45).~~--Abiding Word Ministries The Vine and Branches (Winter 2013) Pastor David Barnhart~~ "Road to Emmaus" (approx 32minutes) < http://youtu.be/vepBqHvZ0Xs>
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
