-Jesus underscored the importance of every person to God with three stories about something lost--a sheep, a coin, and a son (Luke 15). In each story, a person has lost something of great value. When it is found, friends and neighbors are called to celebrate and rejoice together.

We are all of great value to God, who offers us forgiveness and new life through Christ. This new life, is called "Born Again." (see John 3:1-16) Jesus faithfully pursues us with His love and grace. 'There is great joy in heaven over one sinner who repents' ( Luke 15:7).

We find more about this 'new life' in Ephesians 1:7. "In Jesus we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding."
