Cutler says to wait at least four days after the removal of the last fillings to begin chelating with DMSA. I began chelating a week and a half after my last amalgams were removed.

Hey Dawn,
I am on the same boat as you are - deliberating on Heavy Metal Detox. As for me, it has been now 2 months since the removal of the filling. I've read in some places that it is best to wait. Some even recommend waiting for a year. I howerver planning on starting next month, so after 3 months. But Russ told me to start based on how I feel. If I feel fine then I could give it a shot now. So you probably can start now and see how it goes.

Hey Dawn, How do you feel? If you're feeling decent and are not overwhelmed with symptoms, I would certainly move forward with Heavy Metal Detox. Remember to take extra Algin along with it and keep up the Vitamin C and E. It's likely you'll feel worse during chelation so pay attention to how you feel daily and adjust your dosages as necessary to keep symptoms manageable. Please let us know how it goes.

Russ, do you recommend taking the Heavy Metal Detox formula if one is already taking a chelator (DMSA or DMPS) and Algin? Thanks, Gabriella

No. Heavy Metal Detox is strong and should only be used by itself (with no other chelators) and then only when someone is not overly sick. I generally recommend that people wait a month after amalgam removal before they use it, and then—if they feel fair or better—start with only 1 capsule per day and move up slowly as you can handle it. If you feel worse than "fair", it would probably be best to start with a more gentle form of detox. Hope this helps.
