The list below shows some life-style choices that badly impact male fertility:

• Smoking: Significantly decreases both sperm fertility and sperm cell motility.
• Prolonged utilization of marijuana as well as other recreational drugs.
• Chronic excessive drinking.
• Steroid ointment use: Causes testicular shrinkage and infertility.
• Overly intense exercise: Produces high amounts of adrenal steroid hormones which result in a
male growth hormone deficiency causing infertility.
• Inadequate vitamin C and Zinc in the diet.
• Tight underwear: Increases scrotal temperature which leads to reduced sperm production.
• Exposure to environment hazards and toxins for example pesticides, lead, paint, radiation, radioactive
substances, mercury, benzene, boron, and metals
• Lack of nutrition and anemia.
• Too much stress!

Modifying these behaviors can improve a man’s fertility and should be looked at when a couple wants to achieve pregnancy.
