Hi Abigail,
There are those in the Christian world that believe Jesus/Yeshua was a Pharisee but the message He presented was more of a Karaite One and the person on the youtube video above tells why he believes that is. Karaites Jews do not recognize the authority of the post-Biblical tradition's or anything incorporated by tradition. They believe the authority comes from God and God alone and not by extra biblical traditions like the Pharisee's.
And then above tell me who in your opinion are acceptable preacher's or not and none of them are on this thread. You say TBN-Mostly Fiction. So I really do not understand what you are trying to tell me honestly truly don't. That is the total truth! Is it that you want me to leave??? Maybe I am being off base here. Not trying to upset you but now this thread is off topic. Or is it I'm not sure anymore??
I'm just very confused that's all.
Dear Lynn, Please try to calm down. I have sent you a PM regarding what my comments are in reference to your post herewith.
To say that Karaite's do not believe (recognize), post-Biblical traditions or anything incorporated by tradition is incorrect. Then you say they believe the authority comes from God and God alone and not by extra biblical traditions, like the Pharisees.
Lynn, In Matthew 17 we read of Jesus' Transfiguration. When the Lord took Peter, James, and John his brother up on the Mount, Jesus was transfigured before them, His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, MOSES and ELIJAH appeared to them talking with Him. (You can read the entire story in the Bible.) Moses and Aaron spoke directly with God, and that was how the Old Testament was written. That's the only books they had, OLD TESTAMENT. And that's what they believed and (tried) to follow. No one can keep the LAW, so Jesus came to FULFILL the Law.
My point is the Pharisees DID MOST DEFINITELY BELIEVE IN post biblical (New Testament) writings, because that is all they had, THE LAW. The same for the Scribes.
When they all came down from the Mount, Jesus told the men,
"Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead." If you continue reading, you see that the disciples asked Jesus, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?
What did Jesus say,
"Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things, ...I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him...Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist."Now, regarding all the things you listed regarding who
"I" said is biblical or true, I DO BELIEVE THAT TBN has
some good and some bad. Jesus said, you will always have the wheat mixed in with the tares. I know of a few TBN movies they made and they are WAY OFF BASE scripturally. For one, the Bible NEVER tells us that Solomon had an affair with the Queen of Sheba, yet they made a whole movie on that! There are several others, such as this. You incorrectly said that I said Pastor Hagee does not speak the truth. Once again, a few years ago it was in the Christian News where some things he was saying were anti-Jewish. I have heard him speak and did NOT hear him saying anything derogatory about the Jewish people, personally. As far as I know, he preaches from the Bible.
We all make mistakes. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This is getting out of hand,.......
You asked, "Do you want me to leave? ....do you not like the way I share?" LYNN, you have said yourself that you get on a topic and ride it out! No, I do not want you to leave. I have been very honest with you and told you on several occasions, that some of your 'topics' are not clear and therefore, how can anybody understand what you're talking about?
I had not even heard of the Karaite Message, and to tell you the truth I don't want to hear anymore about it. I have been a follower of Jesus for over 28 years and I study very closely the Word from the NKJB, KJV, NAS, NIV, TLB, and several others, along with Matthew Henry Commentary, and some of J Vernon Magee's Commentary. They
are not always in agreement. We must use spiritual discernment, not fleshly stuff. Such as is the case here.
"God is not the author of confusion but of peace." First Corinthians 14:33.." So, if you're confused, take it to Him, not me. As I told you in the PM, I only want to help, and try to make some of your posts more clear.
