Hi Everyone, my name is Diane, I was on this site yrs ago detoxing from Hg fillings (LOVE THIS SITE) and now I'm trying to decide on which candida protocol to go with. Been suffering forever with candida. Too many yrs of antibiotics and sugar ladden diets! So I found this guy online known as the "Modern Herbalist" and his candida protocol is $369 for the supps for the first 8 weeks. Then the next 10 weeks the supps are 2 hundred something forgot exactly. I talked with him on the phone for awhile for free. His products include:
Berbercap
Candi-B
candida rotation protocol
Olive Leave extract
Paramicrocidin
Syntol
Phellostatin
SF722
Yeast Formula
Tricycicline

He says NO to : lentils, beans, fruits, and all meats UNLESS they are orgainic or grass fed with no hormones. This is difficult, how important is the meat part? I'm a high protein lady, I love meat, its hard and expensive to get the organic stuff. He said YES to: Butter, goat cheese (as long as its soft, not aged), vegetable glycerine, xylitol, stevia, green tea buckwheat, and highly recom'd Yerba Mate Tea (organic of course).
Now I'm confused because so many peeps say NO caffeine at all, some say some fruit, granny smith apples or berries are ok, some say no art sweeteners, incl stevia cuz it fakes our body out thinking its sugar, Whats the RIGHT way to do it? Would YOU, (experts) spend this $ and do this program or go with what products on my own? Do I have to cleanse first, or fast, juice, ? Do I use probiotice the whole time or after a few weeks? And does THREELAC really work? I've taken it before but honestly dont know if it works or not. Also is it OK to use heavy cream and/or cream cheese? some say its OK, (my former chiro) I dont want to dump a bunch of money down the drain. Please HELP if you have any wisdom or insight! THANK YOU in advance!! Blessings, Diane

-Greetings DiJoy! smile
It's great to see you reaching out to get some help. Bless your heart. I'm sorry if we missed you. Anyway I've been on line and found a few different ones. I honestly don't think you should pay that high of a price, just to know what to eat and what to avoid. So this is what I found in one place:

Candida Diet: The Only Guide You Need

This guide lays out the essential fundamentals of Candida diet: a low-glycemic and healthy program that emphasizes eating foods that nourish you – not the yeast.

Thousands of people know first hand how hard it is to get rid of Candida and yeast infections. Fortunately, you have a lot of power over your health, happiness and beauty – and it all starts with your mouth.

Your diet is one of the factors that decide who wins the constant battle for supremacy in your gut. Imagine you’re a weapons dealer who takes sides with every meal. Friendly bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacteria that keep all the bad guys in check thrive on fiber. Candida albicans, on the other hand, loves refined sugar. Whose side are you on?

If you’re like most Americans, you eat food that is over-processed, low in fiber and high in refined sugar. Unfortunately, this type of diet makes an excellent environment for the proliferation of Candida albicans and other potentially pathogenic bacteria in the intestines.

-Foods to Avoid
By decreasing the amount of sugary and processed foods you eat, you give the body the chance to heal and repair naturally. Here’s a list of foods to avoid (mostly empty calorie fillers) on the Candida diet:

White sugar
White flour
White bread
Candy
Doughnuts
Muffins
Cookies
White pretzels
Crackers
Artificial sweeteners
Processed starches
Glutinous foods
Dried & canned fruit
Aged cheese
Alcohol
Soda
Energy Drinks
Concentrated fruit juices
Additives & preservatives

Sugar and artificial stuff wreak havoc on your weight, mood and blood sugar levels, which negatively impacts your healing. It’s also important to realize that simple carbohydrates like potatoes, white bread and pasta are basically sugar in disguise.

starIn all cases moderation is key

If you do any reading on the Internet, you will probably find plenty of conflicting advice. What works for one, may not work for another. Use your own judgment and listen to your body. If you have any concerns, check with your doctor.

Foods to Eat
Your body isn’t a garbage can and that’s why you need to fill your fridge and cabinets with high-quality food. Don’t be afraid to take the responsibility for your dietary choices and let your grocery store be your new pharmacy. Here’s a short shopping list that will help you better navigate the grocery store.

When you focus on what you consume, your health can transform at the deepest level.Vegetables:
cucumbers, broccoli, kale, spinach, onions, garlic, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, carrots, turnips, sweet potatoes – the list goes on.

Fruit:
low-glycemic choices are best – grapefruit, apples, avocados, tomatoes, grapes, pears, lemons, limes, strawberries, blueberries.

Nuts & seeds: almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds.

Gluten-free grains and pastas:
rice, millet, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, teff.
Beans & legumes: black beans, white beans, chickpeas, adzuki, lentils.

-Animal products: organic meat, fish and eggs & high-quality dairy products with no added sugar.

-Naturally fermented foods: raw sauerkraut, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, miso, tempeh, nutritional yeast (don’t be scared to try this one).

Drinks: purified water with lemon, herbal teas, green tea, lapacho tea, kombucha, coconut water, moderate amounts of wine.

-Sweeteners: stevia, xylitol, yacon syrup, agave syrup.
In reality, as restrictive as the Candida diet is, your nutritional plan should be balanced and healthy. This is where people tend to make a lot of mistakes. Eat enough calories (but not too many), drink plenty of pure water and choose a wide variety of foods to prevent new food allergies from developing. You can also read about possible harmful side effects of the Candida diet.

I used to suffer a great deal with candida when I was PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome), about 30-45 age. Basically it boils down to watching the carbohydrates and stay away from sugars, as much as possible. (Beware of the WHITE FOODS) Russ, has the NuStevia to use as a sweetener. That's really good.

I take Acidophilus (Probiotic) 100mg. 1X daily. That helps provide beneficial Organisms, helps support Proper Immune function, and may help aid in digestion and elimination.

I know this is a bad time of year to try and watch your diet. laugh So, go easy, and try to get in some exercise. Even if it's taking walks, or a treadmill. Blessings to you for a wonderful Christmas and New Year 2013!
