Merry Christmas Lynn! I like this thread. Yes, indeed, Jesus is the Light of the world! Praise His Holy Name. Our Lord tell us, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) ~ ------ Regarding the spirit of Christmas, I would like to add this short excerpt by: -- Matt Redman-- --REVELATION & RESPONSE~~
Worship is our response to the revelation of God. He reveals majesty, and we bow our hearts in reply. He shows us His mercy, and the reflex of our souls is perhaps a joyful song of praise. He reveals glory, and we respond with a life seeking to honor Him--words and deed lived out as a humble offering before Him.
Worship takes so many different shapes and forms. It might express itself in songs or in silence, and through our thoughts, words, or actions. But the essence of worship is always a rhythm of revelation and response: we breathe in the wonders of God, and then we breathe out His praise.
When worship has run dry, we can be sure the problem is at our end of the pipeline, not God's. His goodness and greatness reach us every day, and the healthy heart of worship always finds a way to reply. A recent song I sing puts it like this: "For all Your goodness I will keep on singing/Ten Thousand reasons for my heart to find." Of course, that number is actually a grand understatement, for there's an eternity of reasons why Jesus is so utterly worthy of our highest devotion.~~ TEN THOUSAND REASONS <http://youtu.be/DXDGE_lRI0E> --------- -And now let's find a song referring to LIGHTS!
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
