Here is something interesting I read on a natural foods forum.
A woman says that she had fillings put in 45 years ago and wanted to get them out. But first she consulted with 2 chiropracters who did muscle testing on her. They told her that it could be harmful to have such old ones removed. Not clear why. But in any case, most of the mercury is gone into the body and she would just be wasting her money even if the removal didn't do any harm. So she is detoxing instead.
I'm just telling you what this person said. I have no opinion either way. I have no particular faith in muscle testing. Maybe other kinds of tests should be done before one decides a filling is too old to stay in, I don't know.

Last year, I started going to a Chiropractor who also did nutritional analysis. Through muscle testing, he found out that I had Mercury Poisoning. But his advice was not to take my fillings out. He just wanted me to take different supplements that he thought would get rid of the Mercury. I would take it faithfully every day & then go back for check-ups every other week. At one point, he said that I was OK with the mercury so I stopped those supplements. Then I started to feel worse so I had to go back on them again.
I asked about removing the fillings. He also thought it was a bad idea. But on the other hand, I couldn't see the justification of having the fillings leak into my system & continusouly take supplements hoping they would help.
In the long run, I had all my fillings removed. Afterwards, I went back to him one more time. He was literally angry at me for having them removed. I never went back to him since then.

Was he the one selling those supplements? Maybe it was multi level marketing, where he doesn't do the actual selling, but gets you to purchase the supps from one of his underlings and he gets a percentage.
In any event, the woman I referred to in my original post had really old fillings, and was not sold any supplements by the chiro's in question.
A very interesting story, LynnR! Your ex-chiro sounds like a jerk, to put it politely. It is supposed to be your choice to decide how to proceed.
For some people, though, trying to save up enough money to have consultation with antimercury dentist, and then having the fillings removed, is impossible. So I guess they would go with supplements to alleviate symptoms, but it is not the total solution, is it.

That's so true, Carla.
Detox is more complicated than most types of simple nutrition because it takes constant monitoring of your body and keeping things in balance. Detox too fast and your quality of life decreases. Detox too slow and your quality of life never seems to get better.
I view it like draining a lake that still has water flowing into it using a dam without flooding out the people downstream. You need water to flow, but at a controlled rate, but faster than the water flowing into the lake. It's like having a window of success.
I personally know of about 10 people now who have had their dentist or doctor get angry at them for even mentioning amalgams. From stern words to outright hollering, their medical professionals were angry at just the mention of the word.
Interesting.
