Has anyone on here ever heard of the Weston A. Price Foundation? They are a non-profit organizing fighting against all the faulty dietary advice given by the government and other sources. They reccomend a diet based off of traditional whole foods and traditional wisdom from cultures that lived long healthy lives. The diet is very flexible and includes any foods traditionally eaten by healthy cultures around the world. No cultures in history ever ate a vegan diet (or they didn't survive to be documented) and many cultures ate a diet of nearly all animal products, specifically organ meats and other animal foods rich in cholesterol and saturated fats. Heres the big kicker: Saturated fats or cholesterol from healthy animals does not cause heart disease or any other disease and even protects against disease. This of course does not include factory farmed animals. I have been eating this way for a while now (over 6 months) and have not gotten ill once, which I used to somewhat often before eating healthy. It is definitely worth reading up on, and I believe its some of the best dietary advice you can find anywhere! http://www.westonaprice.org/index.html

The information from Dr weston Price is amongst the best I have read and the best I have applied to my own life. Without a doubt, this guy seems to have the best approach to health/nutrition that I have come across.
Fantastic information. I recommend it. Thanks a lot for passing this on.

Yes they are fantastic. Maybe a little naive about the dangers of grains and sugars in the diet, they still advocate these albeit in "natural" or fermented forms, but I've learned a lot from them. I have Sally Fallon's cookbook and have used it to make all kinds of things, including homemade broths (never use stock cubes again), cultured cream, sauerkraut, and homemade olive oil-based Caesar dressing. No wholefoods kicthen should be without this wonderful book <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> http://www.amazon.com/Nourishing-Tr...ks&qid=1186819423&sr=8-1Linda.

Yeah, I’ve come across these people, when I was researching the Pottengers Cats stuff. They sent me a brochure with loads of really cool books. Think I picked about 10 I wanted.
Hi Linda, I like book recommendations and that book has amazing write-ups on amazon so I bought it. Thank you.

Yes, it's much more than just a cookbook. So much good info in it. Let me know which recipes you try and what you think? I think my favourite is simply for different kinds of stock/broth. So much better than stock cubes and so very good for you.

My diet has changed so radically this year I need lots of fresh ideas! Last two months has been salad for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dull. But it has worked brilliantly and stabilised my digestion and my other symptoms which are so massively diet induced. Thx again.

Lindalou.
Re Sally Fallon's cookbook.
Cool book, very interesting reading her understanding about optimal nutrition. I found the sprouting/soaking ideas very interesting. Makes good sense to me. She makes repeated reference to W.A.Price’s book, so I think I will read that too.
I have made chicken stock, nut butter, spelt pancakes, buckwheat pancakes, salad dressings, crispy almonds, crispy pumpkin seeds and crispy pine nuts. All excellent, particularly the soaked spelt pancakes with honey and bananas. I currently have a venison steak marinating for 12 hours in orange peal and thyme for tonight’s dinner
Good recommendation, thanks.
