The Jews did not take it from Him the Messiah declared nobody takes anything from Him He Gave!
The first believers and supporters of this Jewish Rabbi were practically all Jews who stood at the cross weeping while the rest mocked.
Many believed He was who He claimed to be and gave their lives because they believed this Is the truth!
They believed that much!
They weeped for Him and He weeps for us.
It's a love story that God loves us in this fallen world we live in!

Quote
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

It's a love story for His people a love story for His creation.
He is a God that loves us like His own children because we are His own children we came from Him.
So He came for us!
