Hi all, very happy to have such a resource, and I look forward to the day when I can help others via it.
I'm 34 and live in NYC. I have between 5 and 8 MERCURY fillings ( need to get a mirror to check the ones on the upper jaw.
So why am I here? I'm 34 but often times I feel like a sick old man, Because 80% of the time I feel like absolute crap. While I don't expierience all of these all of the time, I expierience them often enough. The symptoms I most experience: fatigue, sleep difficluties,
waking up feeling as if I had drank a bottle of vodka the night before (except I don't drink,
I am thirsty ALL the time (no matter how much water I drink) and because of the water I drink I probably urinate about 15 times a day at least
the muscles of my neck upper back and face ache, burn and sometimes seize up, lots of trigger points, some of the muscles don't work correctly ( they jerk into and out of contraction)... thi is TMD related, but looking back, and as I will describe later, these problems began around when I think I started getting a large amount of mercury exposure
Mental fog that ranges form minor to so bad I can't process whats going on right in front of my eyes, can't think of words, can't understand anything but th emost simple concepts etc, can't write simple sentences. It is difficult to plan even simple things, its as if I overlook simple obvious steps, which become obvious days later when the fog decreases.
an almost deficient will power... getting up and getting going seems like trying to bench press 3,000 lbs
Being exhausted by walking short distances, and simple standing in place
Not a problem for a few years, but I used to get regular pluroesis, and also the sac around my heart would become inflamed for no obvious reason (scary as hell, wondered if I was having heart attacks... at 27!!!)
Not an issue now, but I went through a peroid of time during which my hands and feet would get extrmemly cold for no aparent reason.
My heart will race for no apparent reason, for example lying in bed, feeling ok, and suddenly my heart will start pounding etc
Mood problems, extreme negativity, anger, saddness, paranoia, obssessive thoughts. It isn't like this all the time, so when I don't feel this way, it's as if I have a view of how I am at my best, how I am supposed to be! And then, without fail, the feelings return, and frustration is added to the list, frustration at not knowing what the problem is and of all the damage caused to my life by feeling this way.
the strangest thing that happens to me is: at least once a month, sometimes up to three times a month I get this very strange and unpleasant feeling, difficult to describe, but ot's like I feel hot and cold at the same time, get clammy skin, feel as if something is crawling on my skin, I get ataxia, feel as if my consciousness is located 5 inches or so from where my normal point of perception, a strange dissasociated feeling, and often times when I am feeling this way, I get a strange chemical and metalic taste in my mouth that doesn't go away if I drink water. This stumps me the most, and I have seen Drs. about it who tell me it's anxiety, which is BS... who doesn't know what anxiety feels like? That is NOT anxiety, though not knowing it's cause certainly made me anxious... this would last anywhere from a few hours to two weeks once. I am now pretty certain that it is mercury related...
There's more to it, but thats all I can think of right now.
I have tried before to figure out what was the problem , but it would almost seem as if something invisiable was hindering my progress.. but Right after Christmas, I became fully fed up with this ( I was at my grandmother's for christmas, and despite doing nothing but relax, I felt terrible and exhausted etc) and decided I would get to the bottom of this vexing condition, so I basically locked my self in my apartment for a few days and began seriously researching all of this. One thing I came upon was the possibility of celiac disease of some sort... made sense as I have always also had digestive problems, and when I was an infant and child, I had serious gastrointestinal difficulties. SO I decided to try a gluten free diet, been on it for about a month. In some ways I feel better, but I still feel like crap nonetheles. The way I see it, I can now disqualify it as a primary cause, and it's a good dietary habit to pick up which will serve me better once I am Mercury free and Chelated.
So then I began researching Mercury fillings... I had read up a bit before but was unable to get real meaty info, and honestly it did seem a bit far fetched... Why would Dentists put such things in their patients mouths if it was really dangerous?! No way wuold they be lying about the amalgam being safe! Well, seems I was mistaken.
Looking back, I have always had problems of some sort or another, but things got really bad around 2004, and I now realize that that was when I had a few fillings put in in a short period of time... and also when, due to some extremely stressful life situations, I began to seriously grind my teeth while sleeping (which of course could further release mercury!). Also at this time, I did what would seem to be a healthy choice, but which I am now pretty sure made things VERY bad: I quit smoking and began nervously and practically violently chewing gum in order to hold off the nicotene jones. I now realize that most likely, the combo of teeth grinding and gum chewing ( and no doubt other unkown variables) probably released a great deal of mercury into my body... and it was around this time when I practically had a nervous mental breakdown, this was when I had pleuroses and when the sack around my heart became inflamed.. I also had numerous panic attacks, some standard, some absolutley terrifying etc...my neck and jaw started aching and hurting so much that tp do anything other than lie in bed would cause extreme pain at times, also strangely, I began to suffer all sorts of body injuries... pulled my shoulder out simply doing a swimming breat stroke, partially tore my achilles tendon jumping a few inches off the ground, my knees became extremely messed up etc...
I am INFURIATED that the ADA covers up the dirt on this out of base self-preservation... how many people have killed themselves due to unbearable symptoms or because of a deranged mental state that was brought on by mercury poisaning. I second what was said before... if I had been told that those fillings were made up of %50 mercury I would have said something along the lines of "no %%%%(*** way are you putting that poison in my mouth!"
At least I now know what is most likely the issue, and I now have a chance at living a better quality of life.
I now have to find a good holistic dentist in NYC, save the money for the SAFE removal and also for the chelation. ANd then life a life with potential that isn't undermined by a toxic substance... and I look forward to helping others.
Any comments, idead etc would be appreciated, and thanks for settin up this forum and for providing the info!
Also, should add some info about my avatar pic. It's San Lazaro. I'm not Christian (and all set spiritually, thanks)but in my tradition, he is the one who both brings illness/affliction and removes it. He plays a big part in my life, and my being here is I believe in part the result of him, both the affliction and the cure. If you aren't spiritual, or are of another way, whether Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Taoism etc... no worries, everyone is welcome to their own way of looking at life and their place in the universe. I think we are all here for different reasons, and I will respect your views as long as you respect mine, because tolerance works both ways.
