Has anyone ever heard of or tried macrobiotic diet?
Due to many health issues that I have been experiencing over the past year, that I believe are directly linked to mercury poisoning, I have found a homeopathic doctor. He is a strong believer in the macrobitic diet, which is traditionally a Japanese diet rich in vegetables and grains. (although I also have not stopped eating meat).
Using a measuring device to measure key points on my hands and feet he said that my liver was in a pretty bad shape, and that I have many fears and he was right on the spot in regards to many things he said..
So he suggested some teas and the diet which I have started almost a week ago. He claims that positive results will be experienced in 2-3 months, so I figured I have nothing to lose, and can perhaps help myself regain health after having it tortured with mercury for so long.
He said that all the problems I am experiencing are reversable, as far as the damage done to the organs. He did not go into "why" this happend, but rather what can be done to regain health..
Anyways, just wanted to hear some input on this subject.
Also, as a side note, I saw a foot bath detox device and was thinking of having a few treatments with this. I have to find out more about it and will let you know. I have heard about foot patches before, and this goes along the lines with it as far as I know.

I went on a macrobiotic food course a few years ago. They provided a wide variety of food samples. Fortunately I didn't like anything.....although I generally love food. I wrote fortunately because this diet contains a lot of sea weed in their recepies, so will contain heavy metals too. Thought I'd give it a mention Also any diet with high grains is a no-no whilst mercury detoxing because of an increased candida and parasites/bacteria problem. Any starches will increase both mental and physical symptoms. Proteins, vegetables, a little low sugar fruit and some high fiber cereal (this contains less starch) is a must while detoxing. No supplemental probiotics or enzymes as these methylate mercury. All bacteria whether good or bad must be kept at a minimum, or all symptoms worsen.

Thanks for your input.
So far I must say I feel better. I do eat lots of vegetables and protein as part of this diet, (meat and soy products) and drink lots of herbal teas, so I think it's not a bad diet for mercury toxic people. It improves digestion.
I also had my first acupuncture and he had found some points in my body that were really painful. He also told me that my kidneys are not functioning properly and gave me a whole bunch of natural remedies to improve their function. This makes me feel more energetic (at least for now)
I will keep posting with any improvements or adverse reactions. So far so good. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
p.s. according to my last stool test I am finally candida free after 5 or so years!!
