Hi guys , does anyone know if its safe to use ALA while your amalgams are still in place?
I seen a naturopath docter and he put me on ALA and otehr things like MSM,chorella, minerals, vitamin D, Vitamin C,B,Mag,fish oils etc etc.
After reading around I dont know if taking ALA while my amalgams are still in is a good idea?
The trouble is theres sooooo many different opinions out there.
What do you guys think?
Thanks.

No it is not safe. Infact, it's very dangerous! ALA crosses the blood-brain barrier, it will burden your brain with even more mercury as mercury will still be in your direct system if you still have amalgams. You should wait at least 3 months until after the fillings are removed before ever using ALA.
Your doctor is a moron for putting you on that while you still have fillings.

Generally it's considered a bad idea to take ALA while amalgams are still in. I have spoken to so many people in the past few years who were feeling horrible because their naturopath put them on way too much ALA. After cutting it out for a couple weeks and then starting in gradually they usually felt much better. Detoxing too fast is bad on many levels. I would start with 25mg (after amalgam removal) and gradually increase each month, like outlined in this plan: http://urlbam.com/ha/M006Z

wow, thanks for the info..he put me on 100mg twice a day Also what does MSM do in our case? apparently its basically a sulfer so it binds mercury in the digestive system much like chlorella? Thanks.

MSM contains sulfur and is used for maintenance/repair of joint tissue. It's believed that some of this sulfur may chelate mercury as well, but there are probably better - more bioavilable - sources of sulfur for detoxing.
