Take ALA with water and another chelator, like DMSA... On an empty stomach. --- Whoops. Misread and thought you said Algin. I'll just leave this for future reference. Yes. Algin binds to mercury, barium, strontium, and other heavy metals. It stays in the digestive system and prevents redistribution/reabsorption in the colon. Here is a page with more details: http://onlythebestherbs.com/Products/AlginWe use it and it's possibly our best-selling product today. It's not a conventional blood chelator, so you should use it when chelating with DMSA, DMPS, sulfur, or when using an expellant like cilantro.

I believe you could, but NAC may be better suited for mercury detox than MSM because it helps you produce glutathione. N-Acetyl Cysteine We can probably ship Algin to you if you want. DMSA is available from vrp.com. I don't know if they ship to the UK.

okay
and for the best vitamin c
Have you seen Lypo Spheric vitamin c ??
It looks even better than camu camu.
Anyway, so the poor man's chelation is just ALA and NAC then ?? The truth is I am on a budget and can only buy a few products.

Also, are things like astaxanthin any benefit for detox ??
Or won't they help ?

I don't see how it would chelate.
When I detoxed, I used sulfur (chlorella) and cysteine (in the form of protein powder).
I think ALA and NAC would be a better combination if you're not going to use DMSA.

It depends on how toxic someone is. I would start with only small amounts if it were me and I was very toxic, perhaps 25 mg +/-. If I was only marginally toxic, I would start with 100 mg or 250 if I was stronger.
If I didn't know how toxic I was, I would start small and work my way up.
That's what I would do.

I get my supplements from http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/ - they do custom doses. I take ALA and DMSA. I started off with 12.5mg's of DMSA, gradually moving up to 25mgs after 10 rounds. I introduced ALA on the 12th round, at 12.5mg dose. I tolerated it fine and I'm now on 50mgs of ALA. I would reccomend to start low though - perhaps 12.5mg and then move up gradually (never increase your dose on the same round). I have a blog documenting my detox of mercury, any questions you have will already be covered on there: http://rejectmercury.blogspot.com
