Hi,I had a terrible reaction to MRI contrast dye last year. As soon as they injected it I felt my amalgam fillings become galvanized.I could literally feel the amalgam leeching. At the time I didn't know what was happening but I went into severe anaphylactic shock a moment later.
I learned that contrast dye contained Gadolinium which is a heavy metal.I'm not sure how close it is to mercury, but it is very bad for some people.
I know the horror stories of Gadolinium, but does anyone have any info about detoxing from it? Combined with the mercury that leeched out, they have caused many health problems for me over the last 10 months. You can go down a list of all the effects of mercury poisoning and I've experienced almost everything on the list.
I'm getting my 11 amalgams removed in the next month by a naturopathic dentist.I have taken many supplements. Some I found will be best for me to take after amalgam removal.
Right now I'm taking lypo-spheric vitamin C,selenium,vitamin E,eklonia cava,magnesium,fish oil,chlorella,malic acid.
I've developed MCS,neuropathy, brain fog, muscle pain & stiffness from head to toe on my left side where the dye was injected, skin problems,I worry that it could be affecting my heart & left lung, and more.It feels like everything the dye touched it damaged. It wasn't in me too long.So I think that is why my right side is not so damaged.
The hospital refuses to acknowledge that I've had any side effects from my reaction to the dye that almost killed me,even though before the MRI I could do a full workout plus 10 miles on the elliptical machine and now I can't even get through my warm up.
Anyway,I know gadolinium gets mentioned with mercury and I was wondering if anyone had any info that could be helpful to me.Is gadolinium radioactive mercury? Can it be detoxed like any other heavy metal.
This is my first post. It's a really well run site.Sorry if this is out of peoples realm of expertise. I'm hoping for an easier road to detox once my silver fillings are removed.

Do a Google search. You will get plenty of information. Sorry you are having a problem with this. I hope you get well soon. At least you are here warning others of the risk of MRI scans. Mercury can damage the kidneys. Perhaps the damage might only be temporary, however if kidneys aren't functioning properly, the body might have trouble getting rid of gadolinium.

Magnesium malate may help reduce the muscle ache. Creatine supplements may also help your muscles. Molybdenum supplements may help reduce your brain fog and MCS. I see that you are taking magnesium and malic acid, but are you taking enough? Magnesium malate is the two together. I use Source Naturals magnesium malate 1250 mg tablets as they are very inexpensive. Each tablet has 140 mg of magnesium. I take 3 or 4 of these a day. There is magnesium in my calcium supplement, and I eat plenty of nuts which are rich in magnesium, so my total magnesium intake is over 800 mg a day. http://www.flcv.com/cfsfm.html
