There are plenty of women who show a complete lack of respect for men. I guess that is why I am still single.

Hi JK98, (((( Smiles ))))

It can be so hard at times and as we do live in a fallen world and we are not perfected yet we all can and do mess up.
Thats why we all need forgiveness and to forgive the Bible says..
But the Bible command's us to do this because in the long run it's for the best of the family and family relationships.
Sometimes it's a work in progress like Men are from Mars Women are from Venus but maybe it can all boil down too this as..

When a women feels unloved, she reacts in ways that are disrespectful toward him.
When a man feels disrespected, he acts unloving toward her.
Then all hell can break loose in the home.

When women feel unloved they act disrespectful.
It's in learning what they call the love language women learning how men feel and men learning how women feel.
We must understand those differences to understand our mates.

And sometimes this is true as well!

Quote
There are plenty of women who show a complete lack of respect for men.

And that can be because of being hurt somewhere in the past where a women has lost respect for men in general or just a matter of manners too.

But even though, the Bible calls for the husband to love his wife as himself and for women to give deference or reverance to her husband.
---Ephesians 5:33

A Courteous respect and for love if you love someone you will show a courteous respect as well.
Jesus is the example as he showed women compassion love and a respect for who they were back then.
He treated them like they had value and women followed Him because they were looking for that too.

The Bible knows what a man and women need & desire to stay together or everything will go bad eventually if both don't follow this advice or more like command.
Pick your mate well life is hard enough.

-- dance-Good Morning Lynn and JK!

Lynn's post:

Now Lynn, I know that you are a Christian. So where on earth did this come from 'Men are from Mars and women are from Venus'? That is hilarious! Thanks for the laugh!

Originally I was made in the 'image of God', but earthly I am from Florida! Ha! Ha!

Lynn's post:

Now on this reply, I can tell you for a certainty that Gary Smalley's book, "The Love Language", using a color chart, was the exact description of our grandson's and new bride getting together in school, falling in love, and now are married. I can promise you they were both virgins when they said their marital vows. Both were raised in Christian homes, Christian schools, but it was the LORD that brought them together. Coincidence with the color chart? Possibly.

"Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." Psalm 127:1 -- bible

I like your posts. Don't get me wrong. However, with all the publicity and books out on the 'same-sex marriage' thing...Dr. James Dobson--"Marriage Under Fire", if we are not following the Lord's Word in our relationships with the opposite/same sex, we will fall.

By the way, JK, we don't even know if you are a Christian. Would you care to share your feelings in that?
Not to mention, you did not even say the word, "Marriage"--

You mentioned 'not getting any respect'. Friend, we all must earn respect. I honestly believe if one is not a Christian it is hard to even find a moral virtuous woman.

"An excellent wife is the crown of her husband..." (Proverbs 12:4)

"An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels." (Proverbs 31:10) - cross

Thank you for allowing me to bring the Lord's Word into this conversation. I did look at some of your web sites, Lynn. That too is a matter of opinion. It is the LORD that brings a man and woman together 'til death do us part'.

One last thing, if you please, ...specific characterists:
MAN/ VISUAL; the WOMAN/ EMOTIONAL.

Hi Abishag, (((( Smiles ))))

Mars and Venus it's a book, but the Bible is even better when it comes to advice for the love lost.

http://home.marsvenus.com/

It is a funny way to describe the differences and as alot of people can relate to that book name thats why I brought up that title.
All things to all people. inlove
Glad you enjoyed it! Glad your not from venus you make my day earthling from sunny Florida, glad your around.

While men are given the greater role of accountability & responsibilty because of headship.
If a man is not respectful and considerate to his wife in the greater role of accountability that comes with headship treating her with love, honor and respect.
God may not consider his prayers and the relationship with God is effected.

Likewise, husbands dwelling together according to knowledge, as with a weaker vessel, the female, bestowing honor, as truly (being ) co-heirs of (the) grace of life, not cutting off your prayers.
-- 1 Peter 3:7

The Interlinear Bible

The Bible calls us to come from the love and respect angle even when we believe the other partner does not deserve it.
To take the higher ground however hard that may be to do.
Thats what God wants.

The King James version translates it as that your prayers be not hindered.

Lots of females take offense at the word weaker vessel but as there are many strong women of faith in the Bible.
Who took on many roles and they deserve honor and are called heirs of the grace of life.

That word is not used to demean women.
But a women is usually physically weaker than their husbands maybe socially too and more vunerable.
They bear the children and women tend to be on the receiving end of most physical and emotional abuse.

Which in society is the truth. The Bible points this out and wants society to be fair to women.
This is a benefit to the honor and dignity of women in Gods eyes.

This is an interesting site..

Men in no way get left out in the way of God's love for them in the Bible.

But as the special role God gave them in this life calls for a higher calling and accountabilty in God's eyes and that is why it can effect the relationship and prayer life.
To point out that women are the ones usually more on the receiving side of physical and emotional abuse and God wants to prevent that with His Wisdom and Understanding.

I THANK God for that compassion and caring for us.
Though a male could come under abuse as well.

Hi there!

This one just came in, so I figure it fits in with your topic.

Love or Lust

"My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge." (Proverbs 5:1-2)- bible

The entire fifth chapter of Proverbs concerns the use or misuse of the highest function of our physical bodies. Under the sovereign control of Almighty God, a man and woman have been granted the ability, through their union, to make an eternal human being with the ability to accept or reject God, eternal life, and forgiveness. The contrast in this chapter is between the usage of this God-given function in lust or love, adultery or fidelity.

Verses 3 through 6 provide insight into the character of promiscuity, which includes deception (v. 3) and sorrow (v. 4). Psychologists have long recognized that many prostitutes ply their trade out of a hatred for men, purposefully and conscientiously destroying their companions (v. 5). The solution, of course, is to stay away. Don't play with fire! Avoid any opportunities to be enticed (v. 8). The results, of course, of yielding to temptation would be that we would lose our youthful vigor (v. 9), our wealth (v. 10 ), our health (v. 11), our self-esteem (vv. 12-13), and even our lives are in danger (v. 14).

On the other hand, married love is a beautiful thing (vv. 15-20), providing health, companionship, joy, and satisfaction. "Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth" (v. 18).

-- starRemember, none of this is done in secret. "The ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings" (v. 21). We should stay away from any involvement in sin, for sin entraps us (v. 22), and we keep going back. Men die for lack of instruction, or lack of obedience to the instruction they have (v. 23). This leads to great folly, and, in the end, total shame and destruction.

-Hi Lynn, Amazing how something will come to you on a particular topic, then 'lo and behold, I get something speaking of the same message. It's not easy living in this world and controlling the lusts of our flesh.
<<<<GRINS>>>>

--The Price of Victory

But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
- 1 Corinthians 9:27
bible

This glorious contest is before us. The apostle seeks to inspire us to enter into a noble emulation, a competition in which will be seen no selfishness, unfairness, or underhanded work. We are to use every spiritual nerve and muscle in the contest for the crown of life. No one who does his best will fail in this contest.

All who seek for the prize are to place themselves under strict discipline. "Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things." Those who enter into a contest of physical strength for a corruptible prize realize the necessity of rigid abstinence from every indulgence that would weaken the physical powers. They eat simple food at regular hours. They control their lustful desires for sexual appetites.

How much more should those who enter for the gospel race, restrain themselves from the unlawful indulgence of appetite and "abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul." They must be temperate at all times. The same restraint that gives them the power to obtain the victory at one time will, if practiced constantly, give them a great advantage in the race for the crown of life.

Thus Paul presents the conditions which God imposes upon every soul who enlists in His service. The apostle fears for himself, lest he shall fail of bearing the examination test, and be found wanting, and he places himself under severe training. So the Christian today needs to keep strict guard over his appetite. He needs to subject himself to severe training, that he may not run uncertainly or at random, without seeing his standard and striving to reach it. He must obey the laws of God. The physical, mental, and moral powers must be kept in the most perfect condition if he would obtain the approval of God. "I keep under my body," the apostle says. This means literally to beat back its desires and impulses and passions by severe discipline, even as did those competing for an earthly prize.

Paul was ever on the watch lest evil propensities should get the better of him. He guarded well his appetites and passions and evil propensities. ~~
