I believe that I must have 16 teeth that are filled with mercury. I had them all removed about 10 years ago, and thinking that mercury was illegal in the U.S. the dentist refilled my teeth with mercury. Have no idea why I thought it was banned. Well, the first week I came home and woke up with what I thought was the flu. Each week that I went my downtime was more. Then I could barely get out of bed. The doctor said that I had EBV. Nothing worked until I began juicing with carrots, parsley, celery, and garlic. This cured me from my fatigue.

Now I have thyroid issues and wonder if it is the mercury. It would cost too much to have them removed with no dentist in OK that is really that open to it or who I think knows what he is doing. My own dentist quoted me $200 a tooth. He has also told me that it causes more problems by removing them.

Doesn't mercury finally go away through all that vaporizing that it does? Would continuing to juice move it out of my body? I have been taking ALA for years now, but just began juicing again. Lately thought I have been using cilantro in place of parsley.

Thanks for any help.

Mercury fillings leach mercury all the time. Don't take ALA while you have mercury fillings. It could make things worse.

Is it safe to just take cilantro since I cannot afford to have my fillings removed at this time?

I just read that ALA takes other minerals out of the body and for that reason it seems unsafe to keep using it.

ALA is safe to use for someone who has had their mercury fillings removed and waited at least 3 months after removal, if it is taken every 3 hours using the Cutler protocol.

There is a slight loss of some minerals when using ALA, but that is not an issue if you take supplements.

Hi Jessaka,

I'm sorry to hear what you've had to go through and still going through! frown

No, cilantro is not safe to take! Even if you've had all amalgams removed, it should never be used until blood levels of mercury have reduced. Even then, unless there is a safe protocol in place for cilantro, it will still be a risk.

ALA is not safe either until much later (after amalgam removal). Both cilantro and ALA are able to chelate (detox) brain mercury, and therefore should never be used whilst amalgams are still present and/or blood levels of mercury are still high in the body - as they may take more mercury into the brain as they travel through a body that is still loaded up with mercury. It takes around 3 months or so AFTER complete amalgam removal before blood levels will be reduced enough to start taking a brain chelating agent. And I would opt for ALA at that point because there is a protocol in place (cutler's) that increases it's effectiveness and safety in removing mercury.

Garlic maybe ok. Some mercury toxic people may react negatively to garlic however due to its high sulfur content. Sulfur can mobilise mercury. But this may also depend on how much sulfur your body needs and mercury can deplete sulfur. So it varies from person to person how they respond to sulfur foods/supplements.

Probably the best thing to concentrate on at this point is your diet (following a candida/gluten free diet can be very helpful to mercury toxic people or in fact anybody who is toxic or unwell for any reason). Basically eliminating sugar/wheat/gluten/yeast from the diet and maybe even reducing all high carbohydrate foods if the problem is bad enough.

Supplement support is also wise - Antioxidant support - vitamin C powder (with bioflavanoids), vitamin E, selenium, milk thistle maybe helpful, magnesium, zinc, B complex, etc. (take vitamin C and B complex up to 3-4 times daily, as they are used up quickly by the mercury toxic body, so you can split the doses if you need to). Essential fatty acids (mercury free fish oil), getting enough protein in the diet too (natural meats/eggs), natural fats like butter, extra virgin olive oil, virgin coconut oil etc.

Even getting enough salt in the diet is also necessary and making sure you're not iodine deficient (mercury depletes all these things above and iodine too).

Doing parasite/liver/bowel/kidney cleanses may also help.

These things can be done now. Chelation needs to be done later after all the work is done. Some biologic dentists now work with their patients to make sure their diet is right, supplements are in place etc, before they will even remove their amalgams. This is to prepare the body as much as possible for the removal (which exposes the body to an increased amount of mercury during removal). So getting as healthy as possible before that is necessary.

I would also locate a good biologic dentist who understands the dangers of mercury and will make sure you get a thorough removal and full protection during that removal. I would not have more than 2 amalgams removed at one session personally. I'd err on the side of caution and take it slowly and leave a good break inbetween removals.

I would not go to a dentist who does not see any benefit in having amalgams removed. Such a dentist is unlikely to do a thorough job at getting them out and is evidentally not a biologic dentist.

thanks Bex. the type of dentist that you are all talking about is 3 1/2 hours from here. On a limited income that is impossible. I would have to find a dentist here and just let him take them out, but the one here wants $200 per tooth. Wow!

When I juiced in the past I used parsley instead of cilantro and so will go back to parsley. It cured my mercury problems back then because after weeks of doing this my headaches, flu systems, and fatigue went away.

Thanks for the list of vitamins and minerals. I am taking all of those and have for some time.

I have also been on a gluten free diet but need to cut down on sugar more than i have.

The only kind of bowel cleanse one could get in this small Ozark town is taking laxatives. ha. Which I do since my low thyroid condition causes constipation. But I have taken black walnuts for an parasites I may have had.

I just started doing oil pulling and am not sure of the dangers of it or even if it works. But am still learning about how it seemingly takes toxins out of the body. Have you heard of it?

I have been taking in a little more salt, and I have been taking lugol's iodine, 2 percent, 5 drops a day. I am hoping this is not going to cause more problems with my Hashimotos, but I imagine that my iodine levels were low since I never ate fish or used iodized salt. I am a vegetarian as well. And I am taking 200 mcg of selenium and 2 Brazil nuts a day.

What do you mean that garlic mobilizes mercury, and is that good or bad?

Thanks again.

To help relieve constipation and to help with detoxification, I suggest that you drink two cups a day of licorice root tea(unless you have high blood pressure), and take 1,000mg msm(first start at once a day, then build up to 3 or 4 times a day). MSM also helps get rid of parasites. Some people might have a bad reaction to msm, as it causes cell membranes to be more permiable and helps with detoxification(if you take too much too soon you could get a strong detoxification reaction).

Garlic helps as it is antifungal and antiparasitic, as well as being a great source of sulphur. The best thing is eating one clove(section) of raw garlic chewed well and washed down with plenty of water after each meal. I used to tolerate raw garlic, but now it is too strong for me so I use garlic powder(nowhere near as potent, but at least I can tolerate it now). To get rid of parasites, you need black walnut green hull extract, cloves, and wormwood. You need to use all three together. There are some low priced cleanses that have all three, such as Kroeger Wormwood Combination($6 a bottle on the net, 2 bottles needed for a one month cleanse).

Are you taking B12 supplements? Vegetarians are typically deficient in B12 and iron, especially female vegetarians.
Vegetarians also have low carnitine and creatine levels, which are made even lower by mercury toxicity.

A good and inexpensive food that is high in minerals(iron, magnesium, copper, zinc and including molybdenum-which is very helpful for detoxification)is lentils. They are also very high in protein and fiber. Eat them together with a different source of protein to make the protein more complete.

Hi, Thanks for your help. I do get B-12 shots, and my iron is okay. I will look into licorice.

But there has to be a way to get mercury safely out of the system without removing the fillings. I would think if alpha lipoic acid along with the other ingredient that helps move mercury out of the body would help. After all I had mercury poisoning when I had my fillings removed and replaced with mercury and juicing with carrots, parsley, celery and garlic cured me within a short time. My headaches, flu aches and fatigue went away. I used 5 carrots a day, and they are loaded with ALA. I have also read when you eat cilantro your mercury goes out in your urine. But if you can't take ALA, then it seems that you should not take any foods that have it in them.

To help combat constipation it would be a good idea to not just juice vegetables, but also to eat plenty of them. Many here suffer from constipation. I think this is due to candida overgrowth and also perhaps insufficient bile production? The body releases most of the mercury excreted via the the bowel(through the bile), so it is important to combat constipation. Also due to the fatigue and perhaps also fibromyalgia many here don't get enough exercise. A lack of exercise contributes to constipation.

Some vegetarians with fatigue experience greater energy levels when taking 1,000 to 2,000 mg a day of carnitine supplements.

Another thing I find helpful is Triple Leaf Detox Tea. I tried a few other Detox Teas(Yogi, Long Life, Alvita), and the Triple Leaf seems to give me the most relief.

Thanks so much.

That is so true about Chronic Fatigue, because when I had it it was hard getting out of the house or doing anything.

I like the idea of the triple leaf detox. thanks

If you are sensitive to perfumes or chemicals, then taking molybdenum supplements can help. I suggest taking 500 mcg or 1 mg a day. The least expensive high potency molybdenum supplement I have found is the Thorne molybdenum 1 mg(1,000 mcg). It is only around $6 for 60 capsules. Many other brands have supplements that are only 150 mcg, so it takes 7 of those to equal one Thorne capsule. Some people might want to divide the contents of the 1,000 mcg capsule and take it over two days.
