My three year old has flourosis of his two year molars. About the age he began consuming lots of water, since he no longer drank bottles of milk. He has NEVER had real toothpaste. Only baby tooth cleanser and now Uncle Tom's without flouride. Hmm, Wonder where he got all that flouride. Tap water! I contacted a Culligan representative and yes, they are aware of the flouride problem and he told me that is it hazardous, they just are having troubling getting public water companies to take it seriously.
Local stores carry bottled water for "children and babies". It is called "Nursery Water". It has added flouride. If they said "left over fertilizer chemical added', do you think people would give it to their babies?
This I find appalling too: I took my 10 year old in for a cleaning. She too had flourisis on he front teeth. This would be from too much fouride consumption as a 3 year old. They said only bonding or veneers could make it look better, but that there is not way to repair the damage. At the end of her cleaning, they tried to give her flouride treatments!!! Ummm, talk about contradictory!
