Hey all, lovely message board. I am really glad to have found this forum as I have ten amalgam fillings since an early teen (now 29) and since making the connection between diet and health (who knew there was such a thing!!) a couple years ago I have been progressively trying more and more new things to improve my health. Amalgam fillings seem to have absolutely no point being in my mouth and so here I am. Thanks for the little intro smile

Well, my question concerns whether its even possible to forgo refilling the hole in the tooth with nothing and seeing if it remineralizes on its own. I mean, my teeth were still functional and not really in horrendous pain (if I recall correctly) before the fillings so perhaps they would be fine after removal. My diet is also much improved and so I think I will be fine with not inducing more damage and even think there is a possibility that it can promote tooth healing on its own.

I follow a raw paleolithic diet in which my main source of calories come from raw animal fats. I have been eating like this for 6 months and although of late have not really stayed on plan, am confident that this way of eating can lead to robust health.

So, am I way off base here? Will dentists even allow for this sort of thing? Will removal leave a huge hole in my mouth where undigested junk will flow right into the bloodstream?
