RUTH'S ATTICA selection from Ruth Bell Graham's writing. Our Father Carries Us ~~~The young father walking on the beach lifted up his son to sit on his shoulders. Each leg firmly held in his father's hands, the boy sat happily. He had a view that he otherwise could not have enjoyed. And he was safe--safe from the blistering hot sand on the beach, the onrushing waves, the sharp shells or broken glass in the sand. He could go indefinitely without becoming tired. Sitting on his father's broad shoulders, he wouldn't have to run to keep up...it would be no problem. As I watched them, I thought of Moses, who told the children of Israel: "The Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son" (Deuteronomy 1:31, NKJV). And God assures us, "Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you ! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you" (Isaiah 46:4,NKJV). Being lifted up and carried securely is not just for little boys on beaches; it also is for those of old age, those with gray hair. Seeing the father on the beach reminded me that there is One who lifts us up and carries us. He is our heavenly Father Himself. ~~
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]

--God's Grace in Our Lives~
"And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace." --John 1:16 --As human beings, you and I sin. We mess up. In fact, you’ve probably already messed up today! But the Scripture contains an amazing promise for you and me. It’s found in today’s verse. Do you know what “grace upon grace” means? It means that as believers, God’s grace keeps flowing into our lives like the waves of the sea that just keep coming again and again and again. It’s grace upon grace upon grace upon grace upon grace upon grace! It’s not as though we received God’s grace five years ago and we’re still trying to hang on to that grace. No. We keep receiving grace, grace, grace, grace and more grace… His marvelous grace. We never run out of the grace of God because His grace is infinite! God gives us His grace the moment we’re saved… and He continues to give us His grace each day… for daily strength and endurance to face the trials and temptations of life. Lamentations 3:21-23 promise us, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” God’s grace is new every morning! And it’s my prayer today that you’d be encouraged to know you have this daily grace as a follower of Jesus Christ. Walk in this light today… and every day… as you faithfully follow Him!
-GOD'S GRACE ALLOWS US TO FACE THE TRIALS AND TEMPTATIONS WE FACE EACH DAY.~~

- Give God Your Guilt & Confess -From: Max Lucado
-When we pray, most of us are able to take our problems to Christ, but what about our sin?The prophet Isaiah wrote, “The Lord has put on him the punishment for all the evil we have done” (53:6 NCV). Isaiah did not know the name of God’s sin bearer. But we do. Jesus Christ. He came to “put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself” (Heb. 9:26). He “was offered once to bear the sins of many” (v. 28). If you are in Christ, your sin is gone. It was last seen on the back of your Sin Bearer as he headed out to Death Valley. When Jesus cried on the Cross, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matt. 27:46 NIV), he entered the wilderness on your behalf. He carried your sin away.
Jesus did his part. Now do yours. ----- -"If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord." and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)
