DNA in Your Body Would
Reach to the Sun and Back--70 Times!
Don Boys, Ph.D.
Dr. James A. Shapiro, bacterial geneticist at the University of Chicago, and one of the leading
researchers in his field said, “A cell under stress
will splice its own DNA into over 100,000 pieces. Then a program senses hundreds
of variables in its environment and then re-arranges those pieces to produce a
new, better, evolved cell.” Please read that again. Absolutely astounding!
Moreover, all that happened by accident; however, only a closed-minded fool or
dedicated follower of the religion of evolution believes such balderdash.
All scientists admit that DNA is an informational code.
It would have to be in order to accomplish what it does. However, creationists
insist on knowing where the information came from. How does the DNA know to do
the above? Professor Richard Dawkins did a television interview where he was
asked about how information originated and he looked to his upper right then to
his upper left, licked his lips, then looked at the camera, then to the
interviewer and by this time even I was feeling sorry for his discomfort. Here
was the number one atheist in the world without an answer for eleven loooong
seconds. Finally, he told them to turn off the camera then after an unknown
period of time, he came up with an irrelevant answer to give the impression to
the stupid that he had given an answer to the question. If that had happened to
me, I would be ashamed to show my face in public again. I sure would not go back
on television. All he had to say was that God had placed all necessary
information in our DNA. So pathetic.
Each
adult human body has 6.5 feet lengths of DNA strand in each cell and if all your
DNA could be bunched up, it would fit into a cube about the size of an ice cube.
Then if all the strands in a human body could be strung together, it would
stretch from earth to the Sun and back—70 times! Yes, I double checked it.
(“Length of a Human DNA Molecule,” The
Physics Factbook, Edited by Glenn Elert.)
Please
remember that the mean distance from earth to the Sun is 93,000,000 miles. Those
DNA strands are composed of information about your body and it all happened by
chance?
When God-hating evolutionists dig up a crude tool in a
strata, they assume it was made by intelligent life and if we were to receive
radio signals from outer space we would assume they came from intelligent life
but atheists refuse to recognize the intelligent information in DNA came from a
Designer! DNA is a codebook and all books have an Author. However, atheists
still assert, affirm, and argue that God had no part in creation. Simply an
accident, but intelligent information cannot happen by accident. DNA and the
whole universe scream design but that is anathema if one is trying to hide from
the Designer!
Author
Perry Marshall affirmed, “1) DNA is not merely a molecule with a pattern; it is
a code, a language, and an information storage mechanism. 2) All codes are
created by a conscious mind; there is no natural process known to science that
creates coded information. 3) Therefore DNA was designed by a mind.” Marshall added,
“Information Theory and DNA deal a
crushing blow to Atheism, because the laws of physics and chemistry do not
account for the existence of information.” Marshall is right on target..
Intelligent Design simply
teaches that there are so many things such as the human eye that are so complex
that they had to work at the very beginning of their “evolution” or they would
be totally useless. Of course,
Design is a good argument that some of us have been making for many years
although not as eloquently as the new crop of anti-evolutionists. My local
paper, the Chattanooga Times Free
Press, had a cogent comment on the Free Press conservative editorial page
suggesting, “Frankly, it seems that ‘intelligent design’ is a public relations
cop-out to avoid a head-on collision with those who deny that ‘In the beginning
God created….’ ”
Intelligent Design is a
cop-out for believers just as the gap theory, day-age theory, theistic
evolution, and progressive evolution are. However, ID is at least a step in the
right direction because scientists are acknowledging reality. The Free Press was suggesting that ID is
really a capitulation to “scholarship,” “academia,” and “most scientists
believe.” Intelligent Design is taught by some men who do not believe in the God
of the Bible, and are fearful that anyone might think they believe in a
resurrected Christ, an authoritative Book to give direction to one’s life, or information as to man’s origin. ID
is a deistic philosophy that assumes design because it is “reasonable” not
because of revelation.
Unbelieving evolutionists
cannot accept ID because allowing any
supernaturalism gives God an opportunity for His involvement in the creation
and in their personal lives. World-renowned evolutionary biologist Richard
Lewontin wrote: "Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against
common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science
and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity
of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to
fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the
scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a
prior commitment, a commitment to materialism. It is not that the methods and
institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of
the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a
priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation
and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how
counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that
materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door."
(Emphasis added.)
Well, well, an honest
evolutionist! But, no design, no sir! They know if God gets His “foot in the
door,” He will hold them accountable for their personal sins, decisions, and
beliefs.

Panic on Main Street?
Don Boys, Ph.D.
U.S debt is massive, now well over $12 trillion; that is $40,000
plus for every person in America! It is not unthinkable or
unprecedented although unlikely that the government could default and repudiate
all debts including Social Security obligations, Medicare coverage, and military
pensions along with all foreign debts. If that happened, millions of over-fifty
people would storm the White House and Congress producing anarchy and maybe a
Second American Revolution. Emulating the Reign of Terror in France in the
1790s, they might bring back the guillotine for procrastinating, privileged, and
prevaricating politicians. Remember that the bloody
French Revolution was precipitated by a looming bankruptcy as the politicians
spent far more than their income. “But that could never happen here,” says the
naïve one. Of course not!
When Argentina defaulted on their
financial obligations in the amount of $145 billion which they owed various
banks, bondholders, and international entities, it caused ripples there and in
the U.S. Major U.S. and European banks are using a lot of red ink in recent days
in their bookkeeping departments!
Generous U.S taxpayers gave
billons to bankers so they could continue to give themselves astronomical
bonuses, salaries, and “golden parachutes.” To solve our financial woes, VP Joe
Biden told AARP in July of 2009, “We have to go spend money to keep from going
bankrupt.” Say what! How can you spend money if you have none and no credit? How
can businesses expand when they have laid off workers and much of their business
overhead continues?
Dr. Martin Weiss reports
that a Depression is “inevitable and unavoidable” and the FDIC reveals that 552
U.S. banks are in grave danger of
default. During 2009, 140 U.S. banks went belly-up and
twenty banks
have toppled so far in 2010 with many more to follow. Banks, brokerage firms, and insurance companies are being
hammered hard by the bankruptcy of major companies, credit card default, home
foreclosures, corporate and personal loan delinquencies, while other blows will
destroy many of the most prestigious financial institutions. To add to the pain,
the FDIC
fund fell to a negative $8.2 billion at the end of September; however, the
government has guaranteed your savings, but who will guarantee the government?
On Nov. 24, headlines
screamed, “Most global banks are still unsafe, warns S&P,” followed by an
ominous assessment: “Standard & Poor's has given warning that nearly all of
the world's big banks lack sufficient capital to cover trading and investment
exposure, risking further downgrades over the next 18 months unless they move
swiftly to beef up their defences.”
On Feb. 28, 2010, the media reported that Barack Obama's
home state of Illinois is near the point of fiscal
disintegration! "The state is in utter crisis," said Illinois Representative
Suzie Bassi. "We are next to bankruptcy.” Englishman Ambrose Evans-Pritchard
reported on the Illinois crisis declaring, “The state has been
paying bills with unfunded vouchers since October. A fifth of buses have
stopped. Libraries, owed $400m (£263m), are closing one day a week. Schools are
owed $725m. Unable to pay teachers, they are preparing mass lay-offs.” The
school Superintendent added, “It's a catastrophe." Moreover, in Alexander County, the county patrol cars have been
repossessed; seventy-five percent of the deputies have been laid off; and the
local prison has refused to take county inmates until debts are paid. Of course,
what could they expect with generations of systemic corruption?
We are all aware of California’s massive debt and constant cash
flow problems forcing them to use unfunded vouchers to pay state workers!
Furthermore, the state has cut teachers’ salaries five percent. Florida, Arizona,
Michigan, New
Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York are all facing
financial meltdowns.
With millions of Americans out of work, banks failing,
retirement funds disappearing or being
renegotiated, homes being foreclosed, commercial properties boarded up,
police departments cutting back, with black clouds on the horizon, look for
massive problems on Main Street.
Evans-Pritcherd added, “If the governments of
America, Europe, and
Japan are to retrench – as they must
– their central banks must stay super-loose to cushion the blow. Otherwise we
will all sink into deflationary quicksand.”—Worldwide Depression.
This problem is a world problem with the Baltic’s,
Ukraine, Latvia, Hungary, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Britain, Japan, and
other nations standing in economic quicksand—slowly sinking. We face a
Depression followed by massive inflation. Fed chairman Ben Bernanke told us in
his 2002 speech "Deflation: Making Sure It Doesn't Happen Here" that a
"determined government" has the means to stop deflation, if necessary by use of
the "printing press."—Are you ready to pay $15 million dollars for a hamburger
or how about thirty-five billion for an egg as reported in the Black Paradise of
Zimbabwe?
Because of corporate
scandals, auditing irregularities, insider trading, and CEOs' excessive salaries
and benefits, people have lost confidence in the market and in politics. In the
last few months, people (and institutions) have been taking money from their
mutual funds in unprecedented amounts. Some have cashed their funds simply to
make house and car payments! (What will happen when those cashed-in funds are
gone?) Then foreign investors started taking out their money, and while this was
happening, the dollar continued a faster plunge. Main Street all over
the world is hurting and has been for many months.
Gold is over $1100 heading,
some say, for $5,000 as bankruptcies explode, unemployment climbs to 10%, (and
the Fed tells us it will be “staying high”), retailers are scared to death and
the commercial real estate bubble is about to pop! Look for “ghost” malls across
the nation.
When Wall Street panics,
Main
Street feels the pain. I see a major train wreck in
the making or to change metaphors, the sharks have tasted blood and are circling
their victims. Get out of the water!

Pathetic
Preacher
Recently I
sent e-mails to pastors in MO, IL, and IN informing them that my wife and I
would be doing a preaching tour through those states, working around the
graduation dates of a grandson in Indianapolis
graduating from Kindergarten, a granddaughter in IL graduating from high school
and a granddaughter graduating from BBC in Springfield. Some pastors booked us, while many
pastors replied that they were already booked or for some reason could not use
us at that time. Really, no response was necessary unless they wanted a date but
in kindness, they told me why they could not use
us.
But not one
dude! One of “God’s servants” replied, “I don't know you so why would I book you
so you can make money to come to graduations? You can take me off your e-mail
list.” I did not get angry or offended. I pitied him so much it almost hurt. I
hit “delete” and moved on but on reflection, I thought he is one of the major
problems in the ministry, especially Independent Baptists and I decided that he
needed a response, even a reprimand.
There are
many reasons why a pastor might respond in such a way. He simply might be
mean-spirited. He might be a BBC hater, and while I have criticism of BBC as I
have with every Christian college,
many of the leaders are very close and long time friends of mine. Plus, four of
my children and a couple grandchildren were educated there.
Maybe he
simply does not know what it means to be kind, gracious, hospitable, decent,
helpful, considerate, etc. He may have thought, “I really put that evangelist in
his place.” Maybe he would have responded to any evangelist that way. In fact,
it could be that he does not believe that evangelists are God-called and
necessary in New Testament churches.
On the other
hand, he may be an arrogant young dude who is dumb as a box of rocks who needs
God to knock off some of the rough edges.
As I pitied
him, I thought of the many hundreds of pastors who have shown me kindness
throughout my ministry. I am thankful that I didn’t meet anyone like him until I
was in evangelism a few years.
Early in my
ministry I had a bad experience with a pastor of a church where I had preached a
few times under other pastors. Closing a meeting, on a Sunday morning in that
state, I wrote the new pastor, as is my habit, introduced myself, and mentioned
that I would be coming through his city on my way home to Indianapolis. “Let me know
if you are interested in using me.”
He arrogantly wrote back, “Not interested in using you. There is a new king over
Egypt, which [knowth] not Joseph.” I did not think of myself as
“Joseph” but evidently, he thought of himself as Pharaoh! That was my first
experience with an arrogant pastor as a young evangelist. That well trained
pastor drove that great church into the ground within 15 years and the church no
longer exists and the preacher is no longer preaching. His Ph.D. sure didn’t
help him with common sense.
This arrogant
pastor asked, “Why should I book you?” Maybe, just maybe he wants to know, to be
convinced, so I will convince him although some will question my motives in
doing so.
I have never
“played the age card” but will do so now. I must assume that he is a young
preacher since he doesn’t know me although I have preached all over Missouri in both small and large churches.
Moreover, he has never read any of my books or my articles in various Christian
papers or my national column in USA
Today (for many years). Or, another indication of his youth may be his
crudeness and cockiness. Maybe he hasn’t tangled with a couple of mean-spirited, preacher-hating deacons
that skinned him alive. He will and may be humbled somewhat from such
experiences.
Therefore, he
broke the scriptural admonition, “Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a
father; and the younger men as brethren.” I Tim. 5:1 He failed to obey Paul’s
admonition.
It is
possible that he went to my website as I suggested any pastor do who needs more
information about our ministry. If so, he may have heard my message on “Why is
God Angry with Evangelicals and Mushy Fundamentalists?” or my message on “What
is Emerging from the Emergent Churches?”
Those messages or one of my many controversial, thought-provoking columns
may have “pulled his trigger.” However, his shot made a lot of noise but he
fired a blank.
His statement
suggests that maybe there is something wrong with an evangelist raising funds
through meetings! That is a rather easy and comfortable statement to be made by
a pastor who has or should have security such as weekly income, housing and
utilities, car expense, and maybe health insurance plus retirement. Evangelists
have none of that.
Contrast his
attitude with other pastors like the church we visited in the Chattanooga area when we
were looking for a good church after we became disenchanted and dissatisfied
with the large church we had been members of for 15 years. The pastor did not
know us, yet when he discovered we were in the service he had me say a few words
then took an offering since as he said, “It is Sunday night and he has no
speaking engagement so it means he had no income, so let’s help him.” They gave
us almost $200.00!
A few weeks
ago, we had to go to OH to spend time with my brother, then preach his funeral
and visited in a church where I had preached a few times. The pastor insisted on
giving us an offering of $250.00. He realized that we had to make the quick trip
that was expensive plus had to stay for two weeks because my brother lingered
longer than the family expected. How can God not bless a pastor and church that have
such a gracious and generous attitude?
Or, the
pastors who have told us to stay an extra couple of days in the motel before we
move on if our schedule permitted it. One pastor in Central
Indiana just told me that last week as we discussed our time with
him on the month long tour in question.
This crude
dude has made an assumption that is totally wrong. Money has meant little to me
for many years. We have often preached on various mission fields in Africa,
Europe, Asia, etc., and paid most of our own
expenses although a few churches helped pay for most of our airfare. However, I realize that not expecting
an honorarium is not a wise policy so I now require even the poorest mission
field to take an offering for us even if it is only $10.00 because they need to
be taught to share; furthermore, a laborer is worthy of his hire.
Over the
years, I have returned honoraria to churches or to pastors although it can’t be
a regular occurrence since I have to raise money to fund our own ministry.
Another
reason the young dude should have considered having us (after all, he did ask
why) is that we have been standing for and defending the faith for over 50 years, probably before he was
born. In the last two years, two pastors said to me, “Bro. Don, I want you to
come for a conference so my people can be connected with someone who has stood
without compromise for a lifetime.” Or words to that effect. They kindly
mentioned that all our children are trained for Christian work (daughters in
Christian education) and a son who is a pastor plus his two sons who are in the
ministry. In addition, other grandchildren are in or going to Christian college
this September.
One of the
above pastors had read about my defense of Christian education before the IRS
Inquisition in 1977 where I told the IRS committee that included the
Commissioner that they could pass all the rules and regulations they wanted but
Independent Baptists would not comply if the new rules conflicted with Bible
principles of the local church. We fundamentalists whooped the Jimmy Carter
Administration good at that time.
When pastors
choose to have us in because of our
age and background, it is very encouraging since most pastors prefer younger
evangelists.
So the young
dude can consider himself “taken to the woodshed” because he deserved it.
Someone should have done it long ago. His response will be very interesting and
revealing. Like most of us, we had to learn the hard way. The Bible way is so
much better.
Many thanks
to pastors in IN, IL, and MO who have booked us for our month-long trip to the
Midwest. As a last minute reminder, the
following dates are still open: May 23, all day and May 30, a.m. only. The
23rd should be booked in northern IN or southern IL while the
following Sunday morning should be in the Chicago area. Please call 706 965 5930 or cell,
423 240 7974.Or email me. Thanks
for considering these dates.
Why Didn’t I
Return Money to Jack Hyles Since it Was Tainted?
You may be an
independent, fundamental, King James Bible, Soul-winning Baptist but you are not
a thinker. You admitted that you attended a “couple of pastor schools,” but you
“do not know” them. You confessed that you read Gray’s admission of guilt to the
arresting officer but you “do not know what is true.” What is true is what he
admitted. What more do you want?
And I spoke “so freely about these men that are dead and cannot defend
themselves” just as I spoke about them when they were alive.
You declared
that you would not try to defend them since you would be “speaking from
ignorance.” Yet, that is exactly what you did in your message to me. You
characterized my Preacher Helps as “gossip,” without any justification for such
a judgment. Let’s see if I understand: You won’t make a judgment about two
famous preachers who had zipper problems with plenty of evidence for that fact,
even a public confession on the part of
Gray, yet you will make a judgment about me! I have dealt with scores of
issues in the past few years yet my Preacher Helps are gossip because I told the
truth about two sinning preachers who did irreparable harm to the cause of
Christ and many families.
You said that
you “had a thought” but it was not a thought but just an excuse to strike out at
me, but you missed. You asked, “Since you received financial remuneration from
Dr. Hyles and the ministry at Hammond while you were in the Indiana House of
Representatives and you say Dr. Hyles was tainted have you given that money back
that you so freely received as it would have been given to you from what you say
is a tainted ministry?” It is interesting that an educated leader (?) could make
such assumptions without any evidence.
You have
jumped to conclusions in a hurry to support your cowardly indecision. I did not receive “financial
remuneration” from Hyles. My political campaign received financial support a couple of times for specific projects.
A few times he sent bus loads of people for various political rallies to support
my battles waged in behalf of Christian schools and churches. Of course,
numerous other pastors did the same thing. I never received a dollar other than
when I first preached for him, long before his affairs because known.
Thanks for
wishing me a “super day in the Lord,” but then all my days are super.
Some
Supporters Wrote
I am not in
the fundamentalist community by any means but may I commend what you are doing
re Hyles; because if people sweep under the carpet what has gone wrong with
Hyles etc, they are simply doing the same thing as the Catholic church has been
doing over the pedophile priests scandal - rather than facing up to the mess.
The “original sin” is one thing but the real scandal is the efforts to cover it
up (I speak as a former Pentecostal who saw too much of this happen in his own
tradition). That is why people “abandon ship,” and with the Fundamentalists, the
likes of - well, everyone else - can say to them, "Well, why do you take us to
task when you obviously have not put your own house in order?"
Another

I was
thinking about this general topic recently. Not the Hyles or Gray issues, but
the hero worship and divisiveness of our Fundamentalist camps. I am glad that
you are speaking your mind and backing it up with the Book. I am a Trinity grad
(2005) and really didn't know about Gray's deal until it came out in the news. I
must also admit that my experience among independent Baptists is only since
getting to Trinity in 2000. I was just going to a school that stood where I did
on the Bible and would help prepare me for ministry. Since 2005, I spent some
time trying to raise support as a church planter and have planted our church in
Central New York.
While raising
support, began to learn what it meant to be from the wrong camp as I travelled
and frustrated myself trying to contact pastors and raise support. As a pastor,
I have learned that the spirit of division didn't die with Jack or Bob. It
continues. People get all wrapped around the axle over the most obscure issues.
I've decided that as I look for what God has for me next, I'm going to look for
ways that I can follow Romans 12:18 If it

I guess all I'm saying is good job and keep it

Hey, Don, keep on writing. I admire your patience

It is no wonder the world looks at us and laughs. Christ likeness

as the goal for those that write you. You are doing an important work;
don’t get discouraged. Truth always wins out but some times, it takes a

My Response to a Preacher Who Wants a Court
Case!
I am pleased you read my
“latest gossip sheet” but evidently you have not read the facts regarding Hyles
and Gray. Moreover, I don’t care whether you take my position or continue in
your own blissful ignorance in this matter. Furthermore, there were many charges
against Hyles other than his affair and tearing up a family. You chose not to
deal with any of the other serious charges. .
You were concerned that I
did “not have evidence which would stand in a court of law,” but you overlooked an obvious fact: We are not in
a court of law.
Then you ran off the rails
when you wrote, “Why don't you interview the
principals of the alleged adultery under oath (with an independent video
recording) and then publish that. Most of them are still around. That would be
more credible. In so doing, you might convi
