Since I only hace one filling and I'm having trouble getting into a doctor that removes silver fillings properly, do you think it would be a bad idea to just go ahead and get it removed?

Good question! I was wondering the same thing since I also have only one filling in my mouth (but am not too happy that it's there).
I have serious doubts about finding a dentist in my country who has any clue about safely removing amalgam fillings. Which begs the question, which is worse: keeping the filling in your mouth since it's only just one, or having it improperly removed and cope with the innevitable inhalation of mercury vapors? What's essentially more poisonous longterm? Which is the lesser of two evils?

In my case I think it was a really bad idea, not that I knew there was a "safe" choice at that time. I actually thought I was doing myself a favor by drilling them out. Big mistake! I have been suffering ever since I've drilled two of them out, and it's now been almost a year.
Of course, not everyone reacts the same and has the same predesposition towards certain toxins, and I know plenty of people who have had their fillings drilled out and nothing happend (at least symptom-wise)
The choice is yours, but in my opinion it's a gamble and if I could re-do it, of course I would choose against it.

Very bad idea.
I haven't been keeping exact count, but of the, let's say 10 people I know of who have had their amalgams removed by a conventional dentist, at least 5 became extremely sick afterward and most of those are not recovering.
Personally, I would only let a properly-trained dentist do this kind of work. It's your body. You'll have to live with it the rest of your life. Please consider this decision carefully.

yes, this is bad. They can poison you all over again if they don' t do it right. You will actually get a mega dose during the removal and be quite sick! Please don't rush into anything without doing a bit of research! Some dentist will remove them following the safety protocol if you bring them the papers on how to do it! They don't want to get sick either. But be cautious! [color:"purple"] [/color]
