In a discussion of the movie Expelled we find I suspect that the movie will talk about the tenure denial for Guilermo Gonzolez, an astronomer I once met. He was denied tenure because he was widely known to believve in ID. Having been laid off because of my former YEC beliefs, I think that such behavior towards people who had made an impact in their fields stinks. Indeed, I think that the appeal of the movie is precisely that it exposes a form of thought control on the part of academia. It seems that conformity of thought is the rule of the day in academia--I have even seen it aimed at a politically conservative Ph. D candidate I know. The left is as bad at enforcing conformity as they fear the right is.
No one can accuse me of being pro-YEC and I think their ideas silly, but I am also against religious discrimination and the thought police.

Hi CTD, (((( Smiles )))) No doubt alot of office politics goes on behind the scene when it comes to the hireing fireing and the promoting of ones idea ideology and the agenda of the company or the boss. Enforcing conformity. I was reading an interview with Stephen Hawking and I thought it was interesting how he mentioned the vast scale and complexity of the universe and how it being developed from simple laws just blows his mind but more so.. How he mentioned that perhaps the most important thing is to figure out why the universe goes to the bother of existing. And for us, God the author and creator of the universe is the reason why it bothers to exist and what holds it all together. Interesting question indeed!

Here's another: A copy of this same audio tape was sent to the anticreationist Glenn Morton, who had previously been sceptical of our account. After seeing this copy, Morton declared ‘I will state categorically that the audio tape of the interview 100% supports Gillian Brown’s contention that Dawkins couldn’t answer the question.’ http://creation.com/was-dawkins-stumped-frog-to-a-prince-critics-refuted-againBoy's just a renegade I tell ya!
