My daughter has been on Algin for approximately 2 months or so. At first, I didn't notice any major changes. But lately things seem to be getting a lot better.
She never had any amalgams but she comes from China and was in an orphanage for several months.
She hasn't had any tantrums or anger episodes for about a month. She seems more coorporative. If she does something wrong and she gets punished, she is not fighting with me about it. Her grades have improved greatly especially her writing assignments. At first, she was getting frustrated with all the writing. Now the last 2 assignments, she got the highest grade in the whole class.
She stills has a very bloated tummy and wants food type things that I know are bad for her - sugar, candy, sweets. I also see that she is still having problems with shyness and/or making friends. But she just started a new school in the Fall because of a bullying problem - she is probably still adjusting. She still needs to slow down - always rushing to get things done.
All in all, I am very happy with her results. I am hoping by summer, she will be almost there.

I'm so glad to hear it. I think I will start my daughter on algin. She already takes magnesium and that helps her alot with comprehension in school and less irritable.
You mentioned that she was still bloated and wanted sugar, have you tried putting her on garlic for 2-3 weeks to work on the candidia?

My son was diagnosed with candida some years back, and instead of constant probiotics, or trying to "kill" the candida, I finally chose a chinese herbal formula. This is the best of all! It normalized bowel movements and other positive results. The formula (capsules) contains, if I remember correctly, Ginseng Root, Cinnamon Bark, Fennel Seed, Cardamom, Atractylodis, Pinellia, Licorice, Orange Peel, Poria Cocos, Mint. This formula greatly improves digestion & assimilation - a problem with people who have too much candida in their gut. Because most of the herbs in this formula are "warming" and sweet in flavour, they would probably benefit someone who craves sweets.
I know it sounds like I am trying to sell something, but I am not, just telling it like it happened for my child.

Lynn, I'm so glad to hear that your daughter is improving. That's excellent news. Demi's suggestion about Garlic is a good idea, as are the Chinese herbs Carla mentioned. You could also try a nutritional supplement called Caprylic Acid (a natural fatty acid that kills Candida albicans and other fungi). I've posted some information below that might be helpful. Since there are so many different Chinese herbal formulas available, I've posted info on one Chinese combination that seems to be the most similar to what Carla used. I've used Chinese herbal formulas many times and they definitely work! GarlicCaprylic AcidChinese Anti-Gas formulaHope this helps!
