I just had my last amalgams out on Dec. 19. The dentist followed the total protocol and I took activated charcoal pre-removal. I was looking into getting some algin, and even asked Laura about it, when I discovered, while reading the book "Evidence of Harm" about autism and mercury exposure, that the very things that my dentist recommended for me to take are things that are missing in the system of an autistic child - and these things help to chelate and absorb mercury. The pills are l-Methionine, N-Acetyl Cysteine, and l-glutathione. I take a bunch of vitamins that he recommended too, as well as flax oil, recommended by Russ. I have only felt mildly toxic occasionally, and I am getting some good results - ie: the other night, my vision was SO clear whereas before,it was like a gray cloud was hanging over it. And my double vision had, for a time, cleared up. Anyway, this may be a good protocol for some of you others out there. It seems like a very gentle detox compared to what I have been reading.
Russ, Laura, I noticed that your Heavy Metal Detox has some of those ingredients in it. But it also has Alpha Lipoic Acid in it. Is this advisable for someone just starting out? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
