Hey everyone!

Last time I was here I posted that my ulcerative colitis had flared while taking a herbal mercury detox product. Silly me to try a product that detox through the colon when you have a inflamed colon. Learn the hard way.

Good news was that I stopped the flare in 1 week by stopping the detox and eating the correct foods and supplements.

Then about 1.5 months later my antioxidant supplement changed up their formula and moved ALA from a supplement that I was avoiding to one that I was taking. I read on this site that ALA pulls mercury out of soft tissue and dumps it through the colon. NOT good for me!

So 3 weeks of taking 30mg of ALA a day I went into a SEVERE flare! (Severe cramping, Bleeding, Diarrhea) I started on a Elemental diet (predigested shakes) to get thing under control, About 1 week into the flare I found the ALA in my supplement. I stopped the ALA and my flare stopped 3 days later.

I'm back on real food now and everything has calmed down.

I know without a doubt that these 2 flares were cause by Mercury. Which I know has to come out if I ever want to get healed. I know this sounds crazy to most people but I will try to chelate again. I will no longer try to do this on my own. I found a doctor that specializes in EDTA. From what I read EDTA dumps mercury through the urine so that sounds good for me.

Thanks for the info on the ALA, I could have been stuck in the flare for a while if I did not know that ALA dumps mercury in the colon.
