Hi There, I've been really ill for a year...had all types of tests done, by many a dr...and couldn't find anything wrong with me..I finally saw a naturopath and had a dmsa challenge done, and my mercury levels were 5x higher than the allowable amount....so now I am having treatment...I guess working in a dental office didn't help...lol....Anyways, my symptoms are weird and severe, and I was wondering if anyone else has any of the same symptoms....I have dizziness everyday( and sometimes objects would move side to side(vertigo))...chronic fatigue, nausea, vibration type feeling, and lots of twitching in all my muscles, esp. in my head...I feel off balance, anxious and just overall sick....I also had a hep B shot two months before my symptoms started...which I hear has mercury in it...and of course my job.....anyone else experience weird sensations?????Thanks Sandra P

Sandra, I get the twitching - all over. Seems that magnesium helps a lot with that. Magnesium also helps with my heart arrythmias and numbness.

Sandra, I will be quick - not much time right now. I take approx. 2-3 magnesium pills/day (250 mg) and also about 3/4 tsp. of epsom salts in my kefir drink each day. Epsom salts are not bad in tomato juice either. I am taking magnesium oxide right now, but have read that there are other kinds that are more absorbable (ie magnesium citrate) so I will switch to that when I get my next bottle. Perhaps with a more absorbable type, I won't have to take so much. You will know if you are taking too much if you get diarrhea.

Sandra, I took another quick look at a website to fine the most absorbable kind of magnesium. They said to get the chelated kind, either magnesium citrate, glycinate, or malate. If you can't get those, though, other types are also helpful - just not as much.

Thanks Dallas, I bought some Cal/Mag ..Amino Acid Chelate yesterday..it says Chelazome...it has 690mg calc..and 349mg mag. in each tablet..it says to take up to 6 capsules a day.....My mercury dr. did test my magnesium levels, and they were normal though....actually my thyroid was normal, and all other elements were normal...but I think mercury masks the test results....Do you know anything about this??thanks Sandra P

Magnesium never really made me feel that much better -- it may for you though. The most effective thing for me is Chlorella which helps enormously and it's something readily available.

I think chlorella was touted as a herbal DMSA a while back. I was going to buy some DMSA but then I decided to stick with Chlorella due to the success I've had with it. Chlorella is completely natural as well. Make sure any you get is pure, as it attacts mercury in its environment too. High doses of chlorella have been found to be very effective in Germany for mercury elimination.92
Chlorella is an important part of the systemic mercury elimination program, as approximately 90% of the mercury is eliminated through the stool. Using large doses of chlorella facilitates fecal mercury excretion. After the intestinal mercury burden is lowered, mercury will more readily migrate into the intestine from other body tissues from where chlorella will effectively remove it.
from: http://www.mercola.com/article/mercury/mercury_elimination.htmIt's certainly helped my bowel movements. I've always been quite constipated. At the moment im on the candida diet to remove my yeast infection, so it's likely mercury will be seeping out of that infection (a controversial view but one my personal experience backs up), and so this may link to why i've been unable to defecate atm. But chlorella has fixed that. I always go on a bit of a rollercoaster when on Chlorella, but the highs are really excellent and the lows managable. You're not suppose to take dmsa for long periods of time, so you ould try that in breaks.

Do you have metal fillings still? You should not use any chelators until the fillings are removed.

Sandra, Dallas is right about the magnesium. It is the one thing (and believe me, I have tried it all) that I can say for sure has made a tremendous difference for me. Some things to remember:
-mercury blocks magnesium -different forms: citrate is good for people who need help with BMs, but it does draw water into the bowels, therefore can cause dirrhea if you are not needing help in that area. Oxide is the cheapest form, but not absorbable. I found a liquid that I like-www.mgwater.com -DON'T take a calcium supplement. When you are mg deficient-and you are with mercury posioning-you will get even more so if you take calcium because it needs mg to process the calcium and will pull mg from your bones and muscles to do so. I became deathly ill (literally) when my Dr. put me on calcium supplements. -the mainstream thought that you need twice as much cal. as mg is based on the amount in your bones and doesn't take into account the mg in the other parts of the body. -blood serum test are not indicative of the mg in the body. You must have a red blood cell test of ionized test done. -you almost can't get too much mg as you will pee out any excess. The only way that I found is if you have kidney problems.
As far as the thyroid test, I also had all the symptoms with good test. Mercury messes up the process of the conversion of the T4 to T3. This won't show up on the test.
