Although I believe ALA is very helpful for detox, I believe it should not be done until some preliminary detox has been done first. It especially should not be done immediately after removal of amalgam fillings. It can cause severe symptoms. I have found that doctors often put people on overly agressive detox programs without regard to the extreme toxicity of mercury.

I would also always take Algin when taking any detox or chelating agent.
