The FDA reviewed amalgam fillings recently and said that based on hundreds of scientific studies , they are safe. Our insurance companies will probably stop coverage for any other materials

I know many insurance plans only cover amalgam and nothing else.

What about the 100's that say they are not safe?
They are just covering their butts and making $$$

They are making money, but more importantly they are protecting themselves from the billions and billions of dollars of damages they would have to pay if they declared them to be unsafe. They would have to pay dentists to replace everybody's amalgams, then pay for the medical bills of everybody who was affected by mercury poisoning from amalgams, including past medical bills if you could prove it was related to mercury.
They will do absolutely anything to avoid that situation, so they will continue to be declared safe.

Mercury cause cancer. They promote mercury.

Pandoras box, they will not open it up, if the FDA said it was not safe there would definitely be a huge backlash.
Keep people dumb, tell them it's safe, they buy it.

I don't understand why you see stories on TV or in the newspapers warning about the dangerous levels of mercury in certain types of fish and telling us to limit consumption of fish ,especially pregnant women and children , but they claim that mercury is fillings is safe.

The FDA said that it based its' decision in part on the fact that they did have had only about 100 complaints about the effects of amalgam out of the millions of people who have it.
