Q: I've made an appointment for a hair test and I'm trying to find a doctor to help me chelate. Is there anything I can do right now?
Yes-you can begin supplementation. There are many dietarysupplements that can help your child to feel better now, and during the chelation process. Here are some important ones: Take these 4 times a day:
* Vitamin B complex, * Vitamin C, * and Milk Thistle extract
Take these often(frequency not as critical):
* Zinc, * Magnesium, * Vitamin E, * mixed carotenes * and lypocene, * flax seed oil. Are these supplement recommendations correct? I can't seems to find much about the benefit of flaxseed oil with mercury.

A little note on the B-complex. All B-complexes contain B12. This is known to methylate (convert mercury to an even more toxic form) the mercury in your system. It can also raise methylated mercury in the brain. On the other hand, mercury poisoned have far too low levels of B-vitamins so this isn't an easy one. If you get anxiety, brain-fog and such when taking the B's I'd be wary that this could be the methylation.

That is interesting about the B12.
I've been taking a multi-vit with 200% RDAof B12 a day. When I wasn't getting B12 from the diet (recently went vegan) and not from supplements, I was waking up in the night with very bad pins and needles. Since taking the multi-vit, I haven't had that problem and have had improvement in mental symptoms.
Maybe, as a vegan, I need that amount of B12 to get the minimum. Non-vegans will get it from animal products.
Or, it could be something else in the multi-vit that is helping. Alginate alone doesn't stop the pins and needles.
I will watch how I respond to this multi-vit closely or maybe buy a b-complex and see if I get the same benefit. If not, then it's something else that is helping.

I don't how or what in flaxseed helps but it makes me calmer, have a bit more energy so it couldn' t hurt. If all else, it combats the chronic constipation nicely and naturally. I have read in more than one place about avoiding B-12 too. Mainly, anything that makes you feel worse..avoid it

Couple notes...
Yes, good information about B-12. It's usually too low in mercury toxic people and can make people feel better, however, it methylates mercury which enables it to pass through cell walls (bad).
On the other hand, it enables the processing of homocysteine and therefore lowers it's levels which are classically high in mercury toxic people. High homocysteine is related to heart diseases and other circulatory issues.
From the web:
"Homocysteine is formed by the body as a naturally synthesized byproduct of methionine ( a very important amino acid in your body) metabolism. Like cholesterol, homocysteine performs a necessary function in the body, after which, if the right cofactors are present, it will eventually convert to cysteine (and this is one of the amino acids needed to produce glutathione, which is very critical in your detoxifications pathways.) and other beneficial compounds such as ATP, (the energy molecule of the body) and S-adenosylmethionine (SAM). When left intact, it enters the bloodstream and begins attacking blood vessel walls, laying the foundation for heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases."
Flaxseed can help mercury toxic people because it's necessary to rebuild the nerve sheathing that gets destroyed in mercury toxic people. When nerve sheathing is destroyed, a number of painful (and not painful) neurological diseases set in.

Is it the omega 3 fats that have the benefit?
Since fish oil has even more omega 3 fats, wouldn't fish oil have the same benefit?
I know it could be something else in flaxseeds. I don't like flaxseed oil because it has those estrogen mimicing compounds. Might be worth it though.
