How to Get the Volume Control in the Systray

(1) Right-click the task bar

(2) Click "Properties"

(3) Click the tab called "Notification Area"

(4) Click "Volume" so it becomes checked

(5) Click "OK"

You should now see the speaker icon in the task area.

To adjust the master volume, just click this icon.

To open the mixer so you can adjust individual volumes, click the speaker icon, then click the "Mixer" link.
