Had to go somewhere sunny due to my daughter's depression. That's another story, though. Heavy metal tests don't show her real high in mercury although she got the MMR booster shot in 1992 (with the thermosil) and went downhill after that. I will have to get her on a detox program as well.

I'm very sorry to hear about your daughter.

The MMR is famous for this, however, and loaded with mercury as well.

Mercury only occasionally shows up in blood and hair tests in mercury toxic people. Tragically, these are the tests most doctors rely on to tell them if someone is mercury toxic.

My depression and suicidal thoughts (and countless other things) simply went away when my amalgam were removed in July of 2000. Unfortunately, most of my symptoms returned after 4 1/2 years of indescribable bliss when chemtrails began to fill the sky. My chemtrail symptoms are identical to mercury toxicity.

I've read on some sites that it's dangerous to not start a detox program PRIOR to amalgam removal. Any idea why?

They probably are saying the you should reduce the mercury "load" before removal so the exposure you get during removal will be tolerable.

My position is this: If you have your fillings removed properly, the exposure during removal should be negligible (ideally), although, it's wise to take counter-measures for the inevitable exposure you will get.

I don't like the idea of detoxing while amalgam are in because of the potential to do more damage. You will get some "leakage" during detox, and that, combined with the mercury coming off the fillings can put a heavy load on the body.

She recommended a product, which I purchased but haven't taken yet. I'm not sure whether to take it or break the detox down into three phases as you had done. Have you heard of Xymogen's Chelex?

Never heard of it before now.

The ingredients are pretty standard to the stuff like Heavy Metal Detox. It has good ingredients, but the problem is that it may be pretty harsh for starting a detox. Also, EDTA is not very useful for detoxing mercury and can remove beneficial minerals. I've never seen DMSA and EDTA combined like that.

I'm currently taking DMSA (oral) and it's working quite well for me with no real symptoms, which is astounding. Some people do get symptoms though.

DMSA is good because it grips to mercury strongly while some other chelators have a tendency to break releasing mercury back into the body while it's in the process of being transported to the kidneys/liver.

My only concern with both CheleX and heavy metal detox is that they may be harsh to start a detox with, although they may work well later on in the detox process.

In short, I'm sure they both move a lot of mercury, but if someone is very mercury toxic, the symptoms it causes may be unbearable, so you may just have to try it to see.

Ever talked with anyone who used it for detox? Any thoughts on whether it would be good to take everything at once, and if so, would you go ahead and just add Vit. C., Selenium, MSM, Algin?

Well, if your using the CheleX, I would not personally add in MSM, as you're already getting a lot of sulfur from NAC, ALA, and chlorella.

Algin; Always, whether or not you're detoxing. If you're being exposed or have fillings in, algin is a must, along with Vit E and C (all of these for protection in different ways).

Hope this helps and keep us posted.
