Hi,
Just finished my fourth session getting the last of my amalgams out, each a couple months apart, by an holistic dentist, total of 12 amalgams. I'm 64, so I had most of them for 40-50+ years. I have a couple questions, and any help would be much appreciated.
1. I was not tested to see what type of filling to have put in after the amalgams were removed. I think they are all the same but don't know the material. I guess it's too late now as I can't spend any more money. What are the problems with not being tested for a correct material? I had no idea there were so many varieties of filling materials.
2. I read Russ's story and about the three different detox protocols. Is there anywhere on this site that gives Russ's day by day protocol of how many of each supplement was taken and when do you move to the next phase since I notce some are 2 to 12 months. How do you know when to go to the next phase?
Thanks, Diana

Hi Diana, Here are some answers for you... What are the problems with not being tested for a correct material?Although there are many brands of filling material, they all fall into about 5 categories. All of the them have their pros and cons, but all of them are far, far healthier than amalgam. There really is no comparison. How do you know when to go to the next phase?Once you no longer have mercury symptoms increase when you increase dosages, you can move on to the next phase. This amount of time can vary widely from person to person. Is there anywhere on this site that gives Russ's day by day protocol of how many of each supplement was taken? When I detoxed, I didn't know much about mercury and detox because I had just learned about it. Now, I've been reading and studying it for about 9 years so I've accumulated quite a mass of information. For this reason, I think it's best to supplement according to each individual's condition. If you're interested in mercury detox, I would probably use DMSA. If you're interested in solving other health issues, just let me know what they are and I'll see if I can tell you what people (or I) use for it. Here's an article that speaks about DMSA chelation: http://urlbam.com/ha/M001pThanks and welcome to the forum.

Hi Russ,
Thanks for your quick reply. I would say my main issues are difficulty getting up in the morning, foggy thinking, lack of energy, lack of interest in doing things, easy weight gain. I'm also hypothyroid with weak adrenals.

Yes, it sounds like thyroid and adrenals. I use the following supplements for those exact problems: Thyroid SupportAdrenal SupportThey work well in keeping my energy up. I have also recently started taking DMSA and it has helped with energy and brain fog issues. Hope this helps.

Small world, huh? :-) I live in Clearwater. Moved here almost 5 yrs. ago from Pittsburgh. Had to go somewhere sunny due to my daughter's depression. That's another story, though. Heavy metal tests don't show her real high in mercury although she got the MMR booster shot in 1992 (with the thermosil) and went downhill after that. I will have to get her on a detox program as well. We seem to have tried everything else.
Anyway, back to me -- I've read on some sites that it's dangerous to not start a detox program PRIOR to amalgam removal. Any idea why?
Also, do you have any idea what happens when you get your amalgams out as far as the mercury already in your body? I've read it's also really bad to not do a detox program after removal. I wonder how it would be any worse than keeping them in.
Thanks for your suggestions above. By the way, I go to an holistic doctor who knew I was getting my amalgams removed. She recommended a product, which I purchased but haven't taken yet. I'm not sure whether to take it or break the detox down into three phases as you had done. Have you heard of Xymogen's Chelex? The directions recommend 4 capsules daily (two twice per day) and here's what's in 4 capsules: DMSA 100 mg EDTA 300 mg Cilantro 300 mg Chlorella 300 mg Allicin (as organic garlic extract) 6000 mcg N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine 200 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid 100 mg Ever talked with anyone who used it for detox? Any thoughts on whether it would be good to take everything at once, and if so, would you go ahead and just add Vit. C., Selenium, MSM, Algin?
Thanks!

Had to go somewhere sunny due to my daughter's depression. That's another story, though. Heavy metal tests don't show her real high in mercury although she got the MMR booster shot in 1992 (with the thermosil) and went downhill after that. I will have to get her on a detox program as well. I'm very sorry to hear about your daughter. The MMR is famous for this, however, and loaded with mercury as well. Mercury only occasionally shows up in blood and hair tests in mercury toxic people. Tragically, these are the tests most doctors rely on to tell them if someone is mercury toxic. My depression and suicidal thoughts (and countless other things) simply went away when my amalgam were removed in July of 2000. Unfortunately, most of my symptoms returned after 4 1/2 years of indescribable bliss when chemtrails began to fill the sky. My chemtrail symptoms are identical to mercury toxicity. I've read on some sites that it's dangerous to not start a detox program PRIOR to amalgam removal. Any idea why? They probably are saying the you should reduce the mercury "load" before removal so the exposure you get during removal will be tolerable. My position is this: If you have your fillings removed properly, the exposure during removal should be negligible (ideally), although, it's wise to take counter-measures for the inevitable exposure you will get. I don't like the idea of detoxing while amalgam are in because of the potential to do more damage. You will get some "leakage" during detox, and that, combined with the mercury coming off the fillings can put a heavy load on the body. She recommended a product, which I purchased but haven't taken yet. I'm not sure whether to take it or break the detox down into three phases as you had done. Have you heard of Xymogen's Chelex? Never heard of it before now. The ingredients are pretty standard to the stuff like Heavy Metal Detox. It has good ingredients, but the problem is that it may be pretty harsh for starting a detox. Also, EDTA is not very useful for detoxing mercury and can remove beneficial minerals. I've never seen DMSA and EDTA combined like that. I'm currently taking DMSA (oral) and it's working quite well for me with no real symptoms, which is astounding. Some people do get symptoms though. DMSA is good because it grips to mercury strongly while some other chelators have a tendency to break releasing mercury back into the body while it's in the process of being transported to the kidneys/liver. My only concern with both CheleX and heavy metal detox is that they may be harsh to start a detox with, although they may work well later on in the detox process. In short, I'm sure they both move a lot of mercury, but if someone is very mercury toxic, the symptoms it causes may be unbearable, so you may just have to try it to see. Ever talked with anyone who used it for detox? Any thoughts on whether it would be good to take everything at once, and if so, would you go ahead and just add Vit. C., Selenium, MSM, Algin? Well, if your using the CheleX, I would not personally add in MSM, as you're already getting a lot of sulfur from NAC, ALA, and chlorella. Algin; Always, whether or not you're detoxing. If you're being exposed or have fillings in, algin is a must, along with Vit E and C (all of these for protection in different ways). Hope this helps and keep us posted.

I was reading this, ((( Smiles ))) Heavy metallic toxins form in the blood from the foul and corrupted air breathed in daily by millions of people in large metropolitan areas afflicted by pollution and smog. Sarsaparilla is especially good for removing these heavy metals if taken properly. http://www.houseofnutrition.com/sarsaparilla.htmlAnyone tried useing this for that??
