Well, you just have to be careful. I managed to take 60 mg of ALA just recently on a 3 day round and did "ok".

But most do indeed start as low as you have stated because they could not tolerate anymore. Some can do ok on higher. I know it is annoying when you can't find loser dose ones.

It's up to you how much you want to start with. How much you wish to divide up according to your tolerance level.

You could try starting with 25 mg if it makes it just a bit easier, but just watch your symptoms and see how you go.
