Waterbury Hospital reports 3rd swine flu death June 15, 2009
WATERBURY, Con. --Waterbury Hospital says a woman in her early 40s has become Connecticut's third swine flu fatality.
The hospital said Monday that the woman had been admitted to the hospital with respiratory problems and she later tested positive for the virus.
The woman died Monday morning.
Dr. Steve Aronin says the woman did have a few other health conditions that could have contributed to lowering her body's ability to fight off the swine flu.
As of June 11, the Connecticut Department of Public Health has reported 637 confirmed cases of the flu.
