I don't want to take the pills because I don't know what is in them and they have a list of possible side-effects etc.
I didn't realise there was estrogen in wild yam. I thought it was progesterone. I have too much estrogen as it is so need progesterone.
The doctor said I have two choices - the pill or 10 day course of progesterone pills.
I don't want to rely long term on progesterone from either the pill or a cream because I am concerned that they would act as an abortaficient. The doctor tells me that the 10 day course of progesterone is not a contraceptive.
I just don't know what to believe anymore. But I believe life begins at conception and I wouldn't want to take anything that would risk preventing implantation. I'm not married now (therefore not sexually active as I am religious) and may never be, but I'm trying to think in the long term if I don't get my periods back when my fillings are replaced. Doctors never understand this and always say "but if you're not sexually active, what does it matter? If you marry we can reassess things then". But I'd rather get a solution now.
Maybe the 10 day course of progesterone pills 3 times a year is the better option. That would only be a month of no sex each time, because I don't believe the doctor that the pills are not abortaficeint. Anything that forces out the lining of the womb must carry that risk. I realise this is not a concern to most people, but it is to me.
I think I will wait until the New Year and if I haven't had a period then, take the pills and get it over with. If I don't shed the lining, the doctor says I risk cancer of the uterus.
This mercury has so much to answer for!
