It's been about 10 months now since I have discovered I'm mercury poisoned. Before that I thought my main problem was candida/vaginal yeast infections.
Since I have started detoxing with Algin, candida has felt under check. Now I am starting to get some yeast infection symptoms again which I am curing with Nystatin supositories. I'm afraid of taking something oral like duflucan since killing candida may be a bad thing for us mercury folk from what I have read.
I'm wondering if the yeast coming back means that mercury is elevated in my system again for some reason? Or will I not be completely rid of candida until I'm mercury free which may take years or at least until mercury levels are low enough? I guess I'm just confused whether and how to battle candida in the mean time.

Hello Nina,
Have you had your dental mercury removed?
You can't really get rid of fungus/yeast until you get rid of the mercury dental fillings.
Nystatin is a gut antifungal.......I have not heard of Nystatin in a supository......Nystatin is best used orally and taken after antibiotic usage......then a good probiotic is taken to rebalance the gut.
If you are using Nystatin then you should always follow with a good probiotic (inserted vaginally).
IMO, the yeast is getting stronger because you are too acidic. Try drinking water with a half fresh squeezed lemon in it......it will help to realkaline your system and you will feel much better. It's best to sip on this but if you can do this every morning and every evening, then your yeast infection should go away.

Hello Dallas,
Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother) is an excellent antifungal but I don't know if (by itself) how effective it is to realkaline your system. Okay, this may sound confusing but yeast/fungus is acidic and if one could lower their yeast/fungus levels, then they would be less acidic.....people with mercury dental fillings can't eliminate yeast/fungus, so they can never completely eliminate the acid because of fungus/yeast. But they can make themselves as alkaline as possible......water with lemon is just the best and safest way to do this.
If I remember correctly, you've removed your mercury fillings....so as you detox, it would be a good idea to eliminate the funugs/yeast. There are several supplements that will be helpful in doing this. Caprillyic Acid (Coconut Oil), Oregano Oil, Olive Leaf Extract, Apple Cider Vinegar, and many, many others. You should take these on a rotating schedule, take each antifungal for two or four weeks, then switch to another antifungal.
Sorry, this was more then you asked for..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Thanks, miselaineous: Yes, my fillings, as of two days ago (Monday) are all out. I got them out in two sessions. Glad they're gone. They were replaced with diamondlite and diamondcrown. I even forgot and took my vit. c on Monday morning. When I was in the chair, I finally remembered. I prayed fervently and the session went even better than the first one - when I remembered to not take the vit. c. Everything has gone SO well. Thanks for the ideas!

Hi Elaine,
Yes, I have had my mercury fillings removed (improperly however which made my mercury symptoms flare up IMMENSLY).
I do take lemon water often throughout the day, but I'm just a bit confused on what to do about yeast at this point. I don't know if getting rid of candida is beneficial if mercury levels are still high. I have been taking a probiotic but have stopped since I read some controversy on this forum about probiotics actually making mercury more dangerous.
So, I'm just taking garlic and flaxeed oil to help my gut but not much else to kill candida, since I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do at this stage..

Hi Nina,
I still have all of my dental fillings, so I haven't had to deal with this question on a personal level yet. But have you thought about taking charcoal....I read that this helps a lot when the proper protocols aren't followed. Lots of Vit C will help to flush out many toxins and the Algin will help to pull it out of the body. Is there anyway you could get a vit C IV......I think this would help you tremendously.
I agree with Russ about detoxing slowly. But since the source of the mercury has stopped, you may be able to also do a slow fungus cleanse.
Stop all sugars, carbs (potatoes, breads, etc), milk, cheese. There is a book called The Fungus Link, it has the diet and antifungals listed in it. Just take it sowly because there is a normal die-off that happens with removing yeast/fungus (it feels like the flu).

Nina,
Remove all sugar, wheat, yeast from your diet and the candida will decrease, and hopefully (and lawrd knows im hoping) die. Killing it with other things may release too much mercury into your system at one go. Don't use probiotics, they made me feel the worst I've ever felt.
Basically just eat meat and veg. But if I recall, you're a vegan, so you'll have to get your protein from nuts or something, and take b12 (or whatever vitamin vegans lack - i think it's b12).

Hi Nina, anytime you begin chelating or detoxing mercury (mobilising it in anyway), the yeast in your body automatically flares up and will aggrave your symptoms even more. It's very possible that that's what is happening to you and trying to eliminate one misery, aggravates another, so you feel you can't win.
Make sure you are strict on a candida diet, so as to not allow the yeast too much leeway, drink alot of water to try and help flush yourself out.
But yeah, the antifungal thing is really difficult. It's risky to use due to the popping open of the candida cell wall and releasing any mercury that might be contained within. Even natural antifungals can do this, some of them are as strong as the drug antifungals. There is something called Syclovir, which apparently binds with candida without causing a detox reaction (which I assume means it doesn't split open teh cell walls, it just binds it up and the body disgards it). I would check it out though.
Probiotics can be risky too, due to a similar effect than antifungals, or that they can methylate mercury (apparently), I don't know this for certain, but I get adverse reactions from them regardless. Die off is one thing, but mercury symptoms are another.
Some people do fine on antifungals and probiotics, even with their mercury problems. I didn't, it nearly destroyed me and I just don't see the point in risking that at all.
