Hi, I'm 18, I got six amalgam fillings about 4 years ago. For about a year and a half I've had frequent light headaches, for atleast a few hours aday. They arn't like serious migraines, just like a constant numbing pain in the front and top of my head. The feeling is almost as if my brain is swollen and too big for my skull. This usually accompanies a brain fog sort of effect, where I find it really hard to really concentrate on anything.
I'm also tired alot, like a total lack of energy, for the past year or so. It often feels like I havn't slept even thou I have.
I'v had bad acne for a while, while I'm sure that is somewhat related to my age and hormones, it is alot worse than what most people get. And my skin looks really bad overall, like I have forehead wrinkles and laughlines, which get red and irrated alot, it doesn't look normal at all. It looks as if my face is cracking from dryness, which it definitly isn't. I don't have skin problems anywhere else.
The only other symptom I can think of is my toungue is whitish, with little more redish dots towards the tip. I have been told this is a thrush/candida symtpom which can be related to mercury?
Thank you anyone, I am trying to identify what is wrong with me, I don't know if it's some type of allergy, mercury, or anything, I have no clue. Last time I was at my doctor almost a year ago, when the symtpoms were lighter, he thought it was just related to my dust/pollen allergies, and that the headaches were sinus headaches, but I'm not so sure. I will be able to go back to the doctor's sometime this month, can they perform some type of simple mercury test?

I forgot to mention, the day after I got the fillings, a tiny piece of one of them fell out into my mouth and I spit it out, I was 14 at the time and didn't think it was a big deal, but now that leads me to beleive the fillings were performed poorly...

Your story sounds like mine, even more so had it have included IBS, bouts of insomnia and hypersomnia and anxiety. Although, you do speak of not feeling refeshed after sleep, I used to sleep 12-14 hours at a time and still awake tired. My lethargy got so bad I wasn't going out with my friends anymore as it took too much energy. I am getting better now and seeing results, but it takes a long time to remove all the mercury that your body's stored up over the years. I'm 23, by the way.
I would always recommend people get their fillings replaced.
You could try a liver flush, the dr hula clarke one on curezone.com, and see how that goes. Some people have been 'cured' by just that, but if your body can't handle the mercury your fillings are giving it, you'll have to get them removed. I'd also recommend trying to kill any candida you may have, you can test if you've got candida via the glass of water test detailed elsewhere on the internet, but if you are being poisoned by mercury you have to be very careful killing the candida as it reintroduces mercury into your system, as the candida soaks up the mercury in your system.
Basically, I recommend looking at liver flushes, an anti-candida diet (no yeast, wheat or sugar -- basically just a meat and veg diet), and seeing your dentist about replacing your fillings.
Oh and if you have a lot of fillings you'll need to see a dentist who uses precautions to prevent mercury being reintroduced into your system during the drilling, you can also find out about this on the internet. I only had three and the dentist used no precautions, but my body is different to yours and so you may need them. I'd say I'm just about the only person I know who hasn't used percautions. I strongly recommend you do use them, especially with 6 fillings.
In the meantime, I'd avoid tap-water and fish as they both contain mercury.

Seth,
You're symptoms are very typical of mercury toxicity.

Hi Seth,
Since the 70's the mercury used in the amalgams are much stronger.....many dentists are using upwards of 75% mercury in amalgams now. So my guess is yes, you are probably mercury toxic.
You should NOT do a candida cleanse until you remove the mercury......"Mercury feeds Candida but Candida controls mercury"......the candida keeps the mercury from turning into the vapor form methyl mercury and the vapor form of mercury can cross the blood/brain barrier and can also go deep into the cells.
And you must find a dentist that will replace the mercury/amalgams with something other then mercury/amalgams.....these dentists are harder to find. You must search for them.....Diamond Lite is the best, Diamond Crown.....then there are others.
Stay away from sugar, carbs, bread, milk! This will help a lot. Eat primarily meat and veggies. Drinking water with fresh squeezed lemon in it. Vitamin C (lots of it), Potassium (1 pill a day) and Magnesium is helpful.
I've not heard of any mercury tests that are very accurate.
I hope this helps, Elaine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
