Hi! I'm new to this list and haven't officially introduced myself yet - I will soon- but I have a quick question...

Ladies: Do/did your mercury toxicity symptoms increase during hormone changes (cycle, ovulation etc.)? My symptoms (mostly swelling in jaw, back of neck, front of throat, numbness in face) increase when I'm getting read to start my cycle and then the first couple of days of my cycle. I'm just wondering why this would occur and wondered if anybody else had this happen.

Welcome! I didn't experience any of the symptoms you mentioned, but the symptoms I did have did get worse before and during my cycles. In fact, I seemed to suffer from PMS about 3 weeks out of the month for what seemed like a couple of years before I got my amalgams removed. Then, it all just went away on its own. I don't really remember how quickly it happened, but I do remember just feeling good all the time. No more constant mood swings, bloating, headaches, backaches, neck/shoulder pain, irritability, depression, fatigue, etc. Having my amalgams out literally changed my life. To think of all the years I spent suffering when I could have lived a great life. My 20's and 30's could have been so different. But at least I can tell other people and hopefully help them.

That hormone changes effect mercury does make sense as..
We are haveing our children chelated and their DAN doctor said it was best to do chelation before puberty..
I think she might have meant it's more effective that way and that also the hormone changes will effect the chelation therapy.
As we weren't dealing with that at the time..
I didn't really go deeper into that subject but it must make some kind of difference.
Or she would not have mentioned it to us.
