Hi. The doctor and this dentist used to work together, so the dentist knows this doctor and his testing well. I told him the results, and this is why he did follow-up testing to see for himself and nothing showed up. How can I get him to clean out something he says isn't there? If he thought the voll test was enough, he'd not have done further testing.
I cannot force him to clean out a cavitation if he feels there isn't one there. It would mean surgery to do this, which is no small deal. The only thing I can do, is get him to do the cavitat scan on me, as that is supposedly very accurate. Other than this, i cannot continue to go on at him, if he simply says there is no cavitation.
The only other thing I can do is, get him to replace my composites and simply find another dentist for the cavitation problem. Financially, I am absolutely run into the ground by all this. I do not want to go on as I am, but cannot force this dentist's hand. The cavitat scan will cost 700 dollars to get done (NZ dollars).
It's amazing how much these things cost, when you consider the problems we are experiencing are caused by the dentist's in the first place. I have to honestly just try and keep my cool and do the bit that I can under the circumstances. This dentist is highly competent and thorough. He goes the extra mile for things that other dentist's don't consider. So it is quite possible I do not have a cavitation and the doctor may have confused the dead pulp/gangrene for the toxic composites in the same area of the mouth. But I'm still going to do further testing, I am not satisfied.
Thanks so much for your replies by the way!
