John and Henry are walking together in the park. Someone suddenly jumps out from behind a tree and then shoots John with a pistol.
Henry was not hit and he rushes John to the hospital. When John dies on the operating table, Henry dies soon after, even though no one had told Henry that John had died.
Why?
(note in these riddles, you can ask yes/no type questions for which I will provide answers to help you figure them out).

Ok, here are a few lame attempts of mine to figure this out.
The gunman had intended to kill Henry and only realised he got the wrong man by reading the death notice in the paper. He rectified this by killing Henry soon after.
Or the gunman had intended to kill both and realised that one had survived, so killed the remaining witness later.....
Or perhaps Henry had donated an organ to help save John's life and it had failed and proven fatal for both for different reasons....
lol, I'm sorry I am no good with these riddles!

lol, I'm sorry I am no good with these riddles! All good tries, Bex, but unfortunately not the the solution. The killer was out of the picture and never returns after his first fatal shot. And Henry did not donate one of his his organs. There is a very simply solution that explains how Henry dies.

Oh Denis!!! You are just so cool! I loved all of Bex's ideas. I could't figure out what the "WHY"? question meant? So anyway, dear friends, I called my Honey on his cell phone ( I'm laughing hysterically), and he's going into the YMCA to workout. LOL! I read the question....and he said ,"It must be Bex's first reply".....then he quickly said, "No, they were Siamese twins!" LOL! Is that it??? You asked a 'why' question, then below you asked a 'how' question. That's what stumped me!!! We await the answer with great curiosity!! Blessings, Abishag <><
