We've all heard about excess stomach acid and heartburn,... The opening statement in this article makes an assumption that is incorrect. Heartburn is caused by a lack of stomach acid. When this condition exists, acidic gasses are expelled and attempt to move upward causing the pain we know as heartburn. When you correct this condition by adding acid, the heartburn disappears. I knew this when I still had my amalgam fillings in. This is why I used an acid supplement ( PDA ) to stop the problem, and I was able to stop the problem with nearly a 100% success rate. The second article you linked to actually has it right: People with low stomach acid usually have a number of the following symptoms/signs.
* Reflux &/or heartburn My theory for the reason mercury cause heartburn is that mercury (Hg) steals chlorine (Cl) from stomach acid (HCl). Mercury and chlorine bind and are often found together. Hope this helps someone. My Mercury Story: http://herballure.com/mms

^^^ Yes Russ you are correct, low stomach acid needs ACV or something like that. The hearburn thing is correct as well, you need more stomach acid, while people take anti acids and make their problem even worse.
In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.

Imo the low stomach acid is also what makes the people here much more likely to get parasite infections than the general population.

I believe that is one reason why mercury toxic persons are prone to opportunistic infections.

It has been mentioned that a lack of stomach acid is a major contributing factor to candida overgrowth. Increasing sodium intake(make sure you get enough salt, but not too much)and using plenty of cayenne pepper may help increase stomach acid. Some suggest taking betaine HCL supplements.
