Hi Everyone, I just visited a Dr. who specializes in environmental illness etc. I gave him my history including all my symptoms. He said at this point he is not sure if mercury is the big issue with me. He feels it may be there but just a contributory factor to other sensitivities. Anyway, he is prescribing a DMSA challenge to see what mercury may be released. I'm a little unsure as to the safety of this test although everything I have read seems to indicate that it is o.k. Just wondering if anyone has done this test or has any info on it. I'm very nervous about doing anything I'm not sure of as I don't want to take any chances that may worsen my condition.

Cutler states that a challenge is not safe in his book: http://herballure.com/vp/aidtI believe this is especially true if amalgams are in. I suppose if this is the only way to get proper treatment or get a doctor to believe you and/or have insurance cover the treatment, some people would go ahead and take their chances and take the test. It's your decision. Let us know what happens.
