Hi mercuryfreeme,
Just responding to your top post. 7 months post amalgam removal is early days. I did not even start dumping mercury until about a year and a half afterwards. I was very late. And even then, the process of detoxification was painfully slow.
It is not something that usually happens quickly or evenly or pleasantly. It is often very trying, very slow, very painful and very frustrating. There maybe some people who get their quicker and easier than others, depending on their level of toxicty, their immune status, their reactions to metals, and whether they are suffering from other problems at the sametime or not.
It tends to be a roller coaster ride. You can feel better, then you feel bad again and so it goes on until enough mercury is removed from your body. DMSA did help me alot. but only when done according to the 4 hourly routine. Taking it any other way would cause horrible redistribution symptoms. I did not use saunas, but I did have hot baths and found that I did sweat some of the metals out via the skin. That did help, as well as exercise (walking/rebounding). Diet was also necessary to keep me less toxic and help control yeast levels in my body to a more tolerant level.
It's not so much months, but possibly a few years that recovery is noted. Not that a person won't notice improvements along the way, but they are slow in coming and it takes time before improvements become more noticeable and last for long periods, instead of being momentary/short lived.
Alpha lipoic acid in the end is the one that removes organ/brain mercury. So a person may improve by the reduction of extra cellular mercury, but may not be cured if there is still plenty of intracellular mercury that must be chelated out with an organ chelating agent like ALA. That too should be taken appropriately, or it may make things worse. It needs to be taken after blood levels have been reduced first and taken every 3 hours around the clock.
I do not find the candida diet malnourishes me. This might be because i consume plenty of proteins in meat and eggs, plenty of animal fats in butter etc. I don't just exlude foods, I make sure I get enough of the good foods and fats. So I don't tend to lose weight, but I actually gained some healthy weight as my body absorbed more nutrients and I gained a healthier appetite. I find that fruit and other high carbohydrates feeds my candida and yeast is a problem also. I would be careful with those!
As you are 7 months post amalgam removal, you are of course at a time when you could conceivably start ALA chelation to start getting the organ mercury out of you. It maybe better and safer to use DMSA with it. Both need to be taken at the sametime together, so if you need to take ALA every 3 hours, then DMSA will need to be taken with it at the sametime.
Sweating is excellent, but I would look at doing the chelation at some point soon if you can to chelate the organ/brain mercury out of you. I am not sure how effective sweating is on organ mercury. I know it excretes metals via the skin, but I am not aware it removes organ/brain mercury and that is very important.
