Deodorized aged garlic is not a good choice for fighting candida or for detoxification. While it is still good for lowering high blood pressure and perhaps other medicinal uses, it lacks many of the medicinal properties of raw garlic. If you can't tolerate raw garlic then garlic powder or a garlic supplement that is not deoderized would be okay. The sulphur compounds in garlic that help with detoxification are the smelly ones. Some who are mercury toxic are sensitive to sulphur, although it seems that this sulphur sensitivity is an indication that they are deficient in molybdenum, since molybdenum is necessary to make the enzyme that breaks down sulphites. So rather than avoiding high sulpur foods, those who are sulphur sensitive imo need more molybdenum. I take 1 mg a day of Molbdenum(a capsule made by Thorne). Molybdenum will also help with chemical sensitivity in general, particularly sensivity to perfumes(which are usually made from aldehydes. Candida produces acetylaldehyde, and those who are chemically sensitive usually have aldehyde toxicity. Molybdenum is necessary to make the enzyme which breaks down aldehydes).
