Tomorrow I will be looking around for supplements to take for minimizing mercury from my system. The other night my mouth was sort of "buzzy" and irritating with the odd taste.

I wrote a mass email to just about everyone in my address book to let them know of my current condition. One person wrote back so far and could relate totally to me. In the email I put in information and suggestions on getting amalgams either removed or replaced if anybody had them.

Since I am stuck with amalgams what would be recommended to start with for supplements and can supplements be continuously used with amalgams in place?

I read up on something called Humet-R which seems to be what I'm looking for. However, that is something I couldn't take as regularly because of financial reasons. I would be able to take it occasionally.

If there is anything that can be recommended that would be great. I'm kind of getting back to doing things I had done before thought it is trying at times.

Thanks for all your time.

Hi RJ,

I can only relate to you what I did with amalgams that was helpful to me. One was following the candida diet (excluding sugar/wheat/gluten/yeast and high carbohydrates) - that was the biggest help. This reduced yeast overgrowth and toxins inside of me, so I was in a better position to deal with my amalgams and was less toxic.

The other was vitamin C powder (with bioflavanoids), vitamin E and selenium.

Outside of that, I'd take a multi vitamin/mineral supplement to cover bases. Perhaps adding magnesium and zinc. B complex can also be added if necessary.

Make sure you get enough iodine. Mercury displaces minerals and antioxidants big time. Iodine and selenium seem to also be displaced by mercury and may need to be replaced from both diet/supplements.

Without the diet, I was unable to respond to supplements because I was so ill that I could not absorb nutrients or utilise them properly. It is very important that the foundation you work from (diet) has been put in place. Even doing that alone can cause dramatic improvement. It may make you feel worse at first, because in doing the diet, you release a load of stored toxins (even a certain amount of metals) as well as yeast overgrowth which dies and releases its toxins also. So the first few weeks can be trying, but it maybe worth it all.

In fact, there are some biologic dentists who now treat their amalgam patients with diet/supplements before they will remove their amalgams. They make sure they're in a stronger position to cope with amalgam removal.

I have also found consuming raw vegetables to be extremely potent in helping fight toxins. I usually consume a plate with celery, alfalfa, tomatoe, lettuce, cucumber etc. I cannot consume fruit because they contain natural sugars which can feed candida. So I tend to steer clear. Some people maybe able to handle a certain amount of fruit, but I have always found raw vegetables to be even more potent toxin fighters (at least for me).

Apart from this? I'm not sure what else to recommend to you. I'm sure other people will likely add some helpful suggestions. But don't get overwhelmed. It is best to start step by step and for me, diet was the first and best place to begin and from there I added more and did more and eventually amalgam removal.

You didn't mention your symptoms. You might want to do a parasite cleanse, as many here have had parasite infections. There are a number of choices available at vitamin stores. I suggest that you take vitamin c 2 grams a day divided into a few doses. Half a B50 tablet at least twice a day. Magnesium 200-300 mg a day. There are many more supplements you could add to this such as zinc 30 mg a day, molybdenum 500-1,000 mcg a day, selenium 200 mcg a day, iodine, etc. You could put plenty of cayenne powder and garlic powder on your food.

Thanks for the suggestions everybody. Tomorrow I'll go to the store and see what is available.

Symptoms I have are OCD-like, sometimes mouth feels electric-like, ringing in the ears, feelings of going mad, easily touchy and some of my short term memory doesn't hold like it once did.

Also get some sublingual(dissolves under tongue) B12 tablets(perhaps 1,000 mcg?). This may help with some of the cognitive symptoms.

Cayenne again! You are dead on again on that JK! That will rid parasites and some Candida as well! Improve blood flow and digestion and make all the other things you take work that much better. Everyone should try to master that as they said, the one herb you should master in your lifetime. I guess diet and Cayenee would be the first step, then the others are secondary. Garlic too, I can't really eat it so Kyolic aged Garlic might work? I agree on the Supps too, good choices.

In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.

Deodorized aged garlic is not a good choice for fighting candida or for detoxification. While it is still good for lowering high blood pressure and perhaps other medicinal uses, it lacks many of the medicinal properties of raw garlic. If you can't tolerate raw garlic then garlic powder or a garlic supplement that is not deoderized would be okay. The sulphur compounds in garlic that help with detoxification are the smelly ones. Some who are mercury toxic are sensitive to sulphur, although it seems that this sulphur sensitivity is an indication that they are deficient in molybdenum, since molybdenum is necessary to make the enzyme that breaks down sulphites. So rather than avoiding high sulpur foods, those who are sulphur sensitive imo need more molybdenum. I take 1 mg a day of Molbdenum(a capsule made by Thorne). Molybdenum will also help with chemical sensitivity in general, particularly sensivity to perfumes(which are usually made from aldehydes. Candida produces acetylaldehyde, and those who are chemically sensitive usually have aldehyde toxicity. Molybdenum is necessary to make the enzyme which breaks down aldehydes).

I eat garlic bread from time-to-time and had realized no allergic reaction to garlic. Maybe this is good news?

I bought Vitamin C and E, Cayenne powder and also something called "Cayenne Fruit"? Not sure what that will do.

The pharmacies in my area don't carry Algin, nor do they carry N-Acetyl L-Cystein. When I asked what they recommended for mercury poisoning they stopped and looked at me kind of funny, so did a few of the customers that were in line with me. "What poisoning?"

I though pharmacies were knowledgeable with stuff like this or should be? None of the pharmacies could recommend anything for me, not even an online site or page. I left with an answer of "Sorry, don't know'.

I found some AcetylCystein but I don't know which one to get:
http://www.physicianformulas.com/store/Scripts/prodview.asp?idproduct=20&name=Acetyl-L-Cysteine

There's one for diet, sleep, brain power, eyes, etc, etc. I'm just looking for one type of that formula.

The Algin would be easier to determine what to get, though it looks like it could get pricey if it is recommended to take 2 or 3 of those pills a day. If Algin could be stretched out in time then I could do it otherwise I couldn't.

Maybe instead of Algin, regular fiber could be helpful, like in cereal?

I've looked into the diets and there are things that could be lessened or taken out. I don't eat as much or as healthy as I should be due to financial issues. Healthier foods tend to be slightly more expensive but if I can stick to conventional foods and manage things from there I should be ok.

Almost there at least. If anyone would know which Cystein to buy that would be great. Thanks again for all of your time.

Cayenne might be called cayenne fruit. It is important that it be hot though. One jar that I bought of it was not very spicy, so it was of very limited medicinal value. I threw it away.

I bought the fruit and also the Cayenne powder, bought both to be sure. Bought garlic powder though maybe the real garlic might had been better?

I'll be ordering the other two supplements, Algin and N-Acetyl-L-Cystein online shortly.
