Hi RJ,

I can only relate to you what I did with amalgams that was helpful to me. One was following the candida diet (excluding sugar/wheat/gluten/yeast and high carbohydrates) - that was the biggest help. This reduced yeast overgrowth and toxins inside of me, so I was in a better position to deal with my amalgams and was less toxic.

The other was vitamin C powder (with bioflavanoids), vitamin E and selenium.

Outside of that, I'd take a multi vitamin/mineral supplement to cover bases. Perhaps adding magnesium and zinc. B complex can also be added if necessary.

Make sure you get enough iodine. Mercury displaces minerals and antioxidants big time. Iodine and selenium seem to also be displaced by mercury and may need to be replaced from both diet/supplements.

Without the diet, I was unable to respond to supplements because I was so ill that I could not absorb nutrients or utilise them properly. It is very important that the foundation you work from (diet) has been put in place. Even doing that alone can cause dramatic improvement. It may make you feel worse at first, because in doing the diet, you release a load of stored toxins (even a certain amount of metals) as well as yeast overgrowth which dies and releases its toxins also. So the first few weeks can be trying, but it maybe worth it all.

In fact, there are some biologic dentists who now treat their amalgam patients with diet/supplements before they will remove their amalgams. They make sure they're in a stronger position to cope with amalgam removal.

I have also found consuming raw vegetables to be extremely potent in helping fight toxins. I usually consume a plate with celery, alfalfa, tomatoe, lettuce, cucumber etc. I cannot consume fruit because they contain natural sugars which can feed candida. So I tend to steer clear. Some people maybe able to handle a certain amount of fruit, but I have always found raw vegetables to be even more potent toxin fighters (at least for me).

Apart from this? I'm not sure what else to recommend to you. I'm sure other people will likely add some helpful suggestions. But don't get overwhelmed. It is best to start step by step and for me, diet was the first and best place to begin and from there I added more and did more and eventually amalgam removal.
